Disneyland Announces 7 Huge New Ride Reveals Including Major Unexpected Change

Disneyland is in the midst of a period of growth with several new projects planned for the future. From brand-new experiences to significant updates to existing rides, Disney is continuing to expand and reimagine the parks. Disney has just provided new details on several upcoming projects while also revealing new changes for the first time. They also shared Walt Disney World announcements.

Disney just revealed seven new ride announcements, including a major unexpected change that fans have been asking for. We have the full list of everything coming. As part of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney revealed new information about the future of its theme parks during a presentation called Horizons: A Carousel of Progress, aka the Disney Experiences Showcase or the “parks panel,” on August 15, 2026.

First up is an update on the new Coco ride coming to Disney California Adventure, which was first announced at D23 2024. Guests will join Miguel and journey to the Land of the Dead, and we learned new details on the storyline for the attraction in relation to the events of the film. Plus, fans were surprised with a way to have their memories immortalized at the entrance of the attraction. Disney also shared a first look at new concept art for the queue of the Coco ride, along with an update on what the height requirement will be for the attraction. See the new concept art released, plus an important update for families.

Avengers Campus is expanding with two brand-new attractions, Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. The most exciting part of this news was the reveal of the opening timeline for this expansion and which Avengers will be reprising their roles for the attractions. Disney also confirmed that Avatar land is still coming in light of rumors swirling online that the land was being cancelled. They revealed a massive model of the land, giving guests the first up-close look at how the land will be laid out in the park. For announcements at Disneyland Park, we learned that three fan-favorite nighttime spectaculars are returning to the theme park. This includes a fireworks show that is said to be the best in theme park history, along with a returning parade and fan-favorite World of Color show. The biggest surprise for Disneyland fans was the announcement that Tomorrowland will be reimagined as part of a major refresh. This has been something fans have been asking for for years, especially since the land still has the remains of many long-closed attractions that never received replacements and either sit broken or empty.
