New Look at Disneyland 70th Anniversary Decor
Disneyland previously shared a look at the decor that will adorn Sleeping Beauty Castle for the 70th anniversary, and now they have revealed more concept art of the decor across the resort.
In the esplanade between Disneyland and California Adventure, you'll find a contemporary 50-foot sculpture inspired by Sleeping Beauty Castle with colorful glass panels and golden charms that represent the five original lands. You can see that concept art above!
In front of the train station, you can get a photo with floral Mickey with colorful 70th anniversary decor. We had mentioned before how the style of the decorations for the castle in the concept artwork reminded us of a Thomas Kinkade painting. The color scheme for the decor is so cheerful and almost spring-like.
You'll also find multi-colored banners and bunting throughout Main Street U.S.A. In Town Square, there will be a special installation featuring Mickey and Minnie.
Over at Disney California Adventure, Carthay Circle Restaurant will be decorated with 70th colors. The exterior of the restaurant will have a special moment with music, lights, and projection effects in the evening set to the tune of “Celebrate Happy.” The moment “further illuminates Carthay Circle and Buena Vista Street with twinkling lights, dynamic projections and bursts of color.”
You'll also find decor across Downtown Disney and the Disneyland Resort hotels, as you can see in the concept art below.
New 70th Anniversary Character Cavalcade
There will also be a new character cavalcade called “The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade” at Disneyland Park. This includes the appearance of Goofy and Max in their 70th attire, as well as Duffy and Friends characters! You can see our separate article covering details of the new Disneyland 70th anniversary cavalcade.
New Disneyland 70th Anniversary “it's a small world” Projection Show
“it's a small world” will have a new projection show called “Tapestry of Happiness,” which will be a “visual love letter to Disneyland” featuring light, music, and projection effects each night. The show “will create an animated mosaic of Disneyland attractions, moments and memories brought to life in a unique style inspired by the work of legendary Disney artist Mary Blair.” It will feature the 70th anniversary song “Celebrate Happy” as well as nods to well-known Disneyland tunes from across the decades.
The show aims to bring guests together through memories of Disneyland, emphasizing how we all come together from different backgrounds here at Disneyland to see “through the eyes of our inner child, finding happiness in a unique and personal way.”
