This summer Disneyland kick off the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the resort which runs May 16, 2025 through summer 2026. This new celebration features the return of the popular Paint the Night parade, a new World of Color show, decorations throughout the park, and a new discount ticket offer.
But that's not all, as part of this celebration Disney is introducing changes to beloved rides timed with the celebration.
“it's a small world” has been closed for refurbishment to remove the holiday overlay and when it opens guests will be able to see a new popular character added to the mix.

When “it's a small world” reopens on April 25, 2025 guests will be able to see Miguel and Dante as part of the Mexico area in the attraction! This is a great addition to the other lineup of characters throughout “it's a small world” and the new figures look great in the concept art above.
“it's a small world” in Disneyland started adding characters to scenes in the beloved ride in 2009 which was met with a mixup of adoration and uproar. I'm glad to see them continuing to expand the Disney characters in the ride and Coco is a perfect choice for its popularity.
