Disneyland Makes Early Entry Change That Impacts Rope Drop, Swapping Parks Availability This Week

Disneyland‘s 70th anniversary is coming up next week on July 17! While the Disneyland 70th anniversary celebration is already in full swing, this day will feature the debut of some additional new offerings, including a new attraction with the first-ever Walt Disney animatronic and a third verse added to “it's a small world.”

Looking ahead to next week, one impact of the park's anniversary celebration is that there will be an anomaly in the Early Entry schedule for guests staying at the Disneyland Resort hotels. This is important to be aware of as it will impact your mornings at the parks next week! See all details below…

Early Entry Change

disneyland early entry hotel guests perk

Guests of the Disneyland Resort hotels typically have 30-minute Early Entry to select attractions, dining, and shopping at a designated theme park each day of the week. Early Entry is typically at Disneyland Park on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and at Disney California Adventure Park on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

This week, there will be a change to this, as Early Entry will be offered at both parks on Wednesday, July 16, and it will be offered at Disney California Adventure instead of Disneyland Park on July 17. We can assume that this change is to manage crowds on the day of Disneyland Park's anniversary on July 17.

This should be a positive thing for hotel guests, as the Early Entry crowds will be divided between the two theme parks. But if you were unaware of this shift, you may want to re-evaluate your park reservations so that they are aligned with the park that is offering Early Entry. This shouldn't be an issue for hotel guests as there is a separate bucket of Disneyland theme park reservations that Disneyland Resort Hotel guests can access if they have entered their hotel reservation confirmation into the app. This should be an issue switch, but plan accordingly if you were specifically staying because of the Early Entry for this date.

This is also notable for non-hotel guests who will now not have Early Entry crowds in front of them for the Disneyland 70th Anniversary actual date, if they want to rope drop Disneyland Park on July 17, 2025. There will now not be guests in the theme park or entering before them. We could still see Disneyland Park open a little earlier than usual just because it is the big anniversary.
