Disneyland Reveals Special License Plate Frame for Magic Key Holders

Magic Key holders in Disneyland will often get access to exclusive perks and benefits that regular park-goers do not have access to. This includes special merchandise, early access to ticketed events, discounts, or other seasonally rotating perks. This year, the Magic Key program is leaning into a road trip-themed celebration in honor of the several anniversaries happening across Disneyland.

Disney has now released an exclusive item that is very on-theme to their Magic Key Road Trip Year. Keep reading to see how and when to pick one of these up! Magic Key Road Trip Year License Plate Frame

Magic Key holders can now get access to these cute license plate frames, as pictured above. It has all of your favorite, classic Disney characters marching across the bottom, with iconic snacks and landmarks snaking up the sides and along the top of the frame.

This frame will be available to pick up in Disneyland Park at Star Wars Launch Bay, only from July 16 to July 26, or while supplies last. If you do not have park reservations over that date range, you will not be able to go in and pick one up for yourself. They will be handed out to Magic Key holders between 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM, so if you will be in the park between that time, be sure to plan some time to grab one.

This giveaway does have a virtual queue, which could help guests plan their time in the park and ensure that they can get a frame. Magic Key holders will have to join the virtual queue in the Disneyland app. It is the same process as joining a virtual queue for rides and attractions, except you will have to link your Magic Key pass to the app in order for this specific queue to pop up. After you join, you will receive a boarding group and a notification when it is your boarding group’s turn in line.

As with any virtual queue, there is the chance that your boarding group may not be called, or that you might not get a spot in one of the limited boarding groups. There is a limit of one virtual queue entry per Magic Key holder, and each Magic Key holder may only receive one frame. You must show a valid Magic Key pass in order to redeem the license plate frame.

These license plate frames are separate from the Disneyland California license plates that are coming soon. Those license plates are in partnership with the California Children’s Hospital Association and the California Health Facilities Financing Authority, and are being made to raise money for children’s hospitals across the state of California.

There are other active Magic Key perks for guests to enjoy, the first of which is an interactive map activity at Disneyland Park. This runs from June 26 to July 24, and could be a fun and new way to spend time in the park.

There is also a new popcorn bucket themed after the King Arthur Carrousel available for purchase, and a complimentary Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run poster featuring Grogu and the Mandalorian. You can read more about those perks here.

And finally, as the 70th anniversary of Disneyland comes to a close, Magic Key holders can get discounts on themed merchandise at select locations on the property. These discounts are on top of the discount that Magic Key holders already receive.
