Is This the Best Disney World Character Dining? Many Completely Miss It

Character dining at Walt Disney World features all-you-care-to-enjoy meals and memorable character interactions. Some of these character dining meals are pricy experiences that may or may not be worth it, and others are often overlooked despite their great Disney Princess interactions.

One character dining experience, however, continues to stand out as one of the best in the theme parks with a unique character lineup and specialty Mickey waffles you cannot find at other character dining buffets. Combined with standout food offerings and some of the best character interactions, it’s one of the many reasons why this remains our pick for the best character dining experience at Disney World, but many still overlook it. Keep reading for our experience and why we love this location! Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including the cheapest way to have a Disney Wedding and a new transportation policy change at Disney Springs.

Crystal Palace inside

The Crystal Palace is inspired by Victorian greenhouses of the late 1800s with glass ceilings, topiaries, and tropical palms. This restaurant is located right off the hub, facing Cinderella Castle, and is very active, with great views of the best part of Disney World.

Crystal Palace inside

One of the best times to eat at Crystal Palace is around 11 AM, when the restaurant is transitioning from brunch to lunch so you get to enjoy the breakfast offerings and then lunch when it is swapped out.

Crystal Palace

The breakfast buffet was plentiful and offered all the traditional Disney classics like Mickey waffles, pancakes, hash browns, eggs, pastries, cereal, fruit, etc.

Crystal palace breakfast

There were so many great options for breakfast, including all these lovely frittatas.

Crystal Palace lunch

And then when the buffet began switching to lunch, you got to sample an entirely new lineup of food items with plenty of variety.

Crystal palace dessert

We loved all the dining options here, but especially the berry cobbler and pecan bun. This experience has some of the best food in Magic Kingdom.

Famous Mickey Churro Waffles

Mickey churro waffles

And of course, the standout option here is the Mickey Churro Waffles, which are famous on the Disney Cruise Line and are available here. Previously, this was the only restaurant in Disney World to offer the famous Mickey Churro Waffles. They were just recently added to Spyglass Grill in May 2026, but Crystal Palace remains the only character dining to offer them.

So while churro Mickey waffles can now be found elsewhere at Disney World, Crystal Palace remains the character dining location to get them. These are truly famous on Disney Cruise Line and a big highlight of this experience.

Winnie the Pooh Character Interactions

Winnie the Pooh

The characters featured at this character dining are Winnie the Pooh and friends, which include Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, and Piglet. There were banners hung that read, “Welcome to our Friendship Day Celebration!” which is a celebration straight from the Winnie the Pooh stories.

Winnie the Pooh

Every so often, the characters will parade through the restaurant in celebration of Friendship Day with balloons, pinwheels, and a flag reading Hunny.

Winnie the Pooh

All of the characters besides Pooh circulated to the tables. To meet Winnie the Pooh, you can line up during any part of your meal to meet the character.

Piglet

The characters will circle the restaurant, and cast members make sure they hit every table. So don’t worry about missing the characters because you’re free to get up and get your food.
