Disneyland Announces New Character Greetings and Entertainment for Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month

Disneyland Resort is celebrating Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month with new offerings in addition to ongoing cultural celebrations throughout the year. Special character greetings and live entertainment are among the highlights. These arrive on top of Disneyland’s Halloween Time festivities, including Haunted Mansion Holiday.

Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month at Disneyland

Elena, the titular princess from Disney Junior’s Elena of Avalor, will greet guests outside of Royal Hall at Disneyland Park from October 4 through October 15, 2026. Elena is relatively rare among Disneyland character meet-and-greets.

Elena appears occasionally in the park throughout the year, but her fans will certainly appreciate scheduled greetings to plan their visits around. Consult the Disneyland app on the day of your visit for her appearance times.

A mariachi band will perform at Rancho Del Zocalo Park in Frontierland at Disneyland Park in the evenings on September 15, 16, 22, 23 and 30, and October 6, 7, 13 and 14, 2026. Guests can listen while enjoying a meal from the quick service Rancho Del Zocalo Restaurante.

During the daytime, the Disneyland Band will perform sets in Frontierland, where they’ll play “Remember Me” from Coco and “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Encanto. These sets will be in addition to the Disneyland Band’s usual performances throughout the rest of the park.

In listing these offerings, Disneyland also highlighted Plaza de la Familia, Disney California Adventure’s ongoing celebration of Día de Muertos. Located in Paradise Gardens Park near Goofy’s Sky School, this year’s festivities kicked off in August and continue through November 2, 2026, with live entertainment and specialty menu items inspired by Coco. Miguel from the film greets guests on select dates in his red jacket and jeans.

Disney also reiterated its year-round character greetings with Mirabel from Encanto and Miguel from Coco in Frontierland at Disneyland Park. Mirabel is occasionally joined by other members of the Madrigal family. Miguel is dressed in his mariachi outfit from the end of the movie.

Lastly, Disney encouraged guests to dine at the three Downtown Disney restaurants from Chef Carlos Gaytán, the first Mexican chef to earn a Michelin Star. Those dining locations are Céntrico, Tiendita, and Paseo. Click the restaurant names to see our previous coverage of each eatery.
