A restaurant at Downtown Disney has just hit its 25th anniversary, and the owners are commemorating that milestone with a unique contest for guests. The Ultimate Slice Showdown Pizza Recipe Contest
Naples Ristorante e Bar is a Downtown Disney staple. It is one of two restaurants that opened with the area back in 2001, and has since garnered a reputation for its “Neapolitan-style pizzas, scratch-made pastas, expansive wine list, and lively atmosphere that blends classic Italian traditions with California energy.”

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the restaurant, and to celebrate, Naples is hosting the Ultimate Slice Showdown contest, where guests can submit pizza recipes and concepts for a chance to be featured on the fall menu. Pizza is a key part of Naples’ menu, giving the contest winner a large amount of exposure for their recipe.
The Chief Operating Officer for Patina Group, Seth Rose, said that this contest was decided as a way to give back to the loyal patrons that Naples Ristorante e Bar has seen over the past 25 years. He mentioned how the restaurant wanted to “recognize those loyal customers by giving them the opportunity to share their treasured recipes on our menu,” and how giving customers the chance to help shape the menu speaks to the community that Naples has fostered.
In order for your recipe to be considered, you will have to submit it on the official form on Naples’ website. That submission must be a complete pizza concept that includes cheese, sauce, and any toppings, and you also have to include contact information: name, phone number, and email address. Multiple submissions are allowed, as long as each one is unique.

Competition finalists will then have their recipes judged by a panel of culinary experts from the Patina Group, as well as local communities. The first-place winner will have their recipe featured on the fall menu at Naples Ristorante e Bar, and will also receive dining vouchers. The second-place recipe will be included at the neighboring Napolini as the quick-service spot’s Pizza of the Month, and they will also get dining vouchers.
Submissions to this contest opened on June 23 and will close on July 13. June 23 is also the date when you can start buying tickets to the final tasting. Finalists will be announced the week of August 3, so if you submit a recipe, be sure to look out for your results around that time. The final tasting for finalists will take place on September 12.
