Disneyland 90s Nite Review

We attended the first 90s Nite party this year, and we thought this Disneyland After Dark event was awesome! The second year Disneyland had this theme, which is enjoyable for all sorts of demographics. That being said, there was some lack of communication about how to meet the ducks at the party, and some people didn't arrive early enough to be able to plan for this experience. We'll discuss that more below.
Crowds were low, and wait times were very low. Lines were not incredibly long like other After Darks for characters or photo ops. There were some roaming characters, too.
Highlights were Goofy and Max's Dance Party and the 90s Rad Review. Music was playing throughout the park, and it was so much fun. There were other characters around including the neon monkeys from Fantasmic! but we didn't end up getting pictures with them. Overall we focused on enjoying the atmosphere, key duck characters, and the food (seen below).
Guest costumes were fun, and the vibe was great. The fanny pack gift is excellent and most people wore them all night. This was one of the keepsakes included with event admission for all attending.
The food options were fabulous! We wish they were offered as seasonal options actually. We loved the Pizza Roll Beignet, Cheesy Bacon Garlic Bread, Tomorrowland Peach Soda, Taco Fries, and the Campfire Donuts Skewer (although this one has been at other After Dark events).
We oddly noticed lines for food to be very long in the order line, not mobile pickup. Mobile pickup was a breeze, but it seems guests did not get the memo that they could order these treats as early as 7 am!
Here is a look at the 90s Sing-Along at The Golden Horseshoe where you could sing along to favorite 90s music!
There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the Powerline Max popcorn bucket, which will first be available at 90s Nite before coming to Disneyland this spring. Here is a look at this fun popcorn bucket! See more details about current Disneyland popcorn buckets here.

Tips for Disneyland After Dark 90s Nite
Check out the event guide on the Disneyland app. For 90s Nite, the event guide dropped on the Disneyland app. This is a first, as usually, this info is available in a printed guide at the event. The overall event page has a breakdown of offerings by category including the food and merchandise guide, character encounters, attractions, etc. The interactive event map on the app has icons showing the locations of dining, food ordering locations, photo spots, and entertainment/character encounters.
Use mobile ordering! Mobile order treats with a reminder you can cancel your order without getting charged.
Best spot for cavalcade: The cavalcade stops on Main Street and by Small World. The best spot is Main Street in front of the Candy Palace. Arrive 20 minutes before showtime, maybe 30 for the first parade.
Get your Fantasyland Theatre wristband as early as possible. There was an issue at the first 90s Nite party where no one knew the Fantasyland Theatre was going to be a big meet-and-greet area (like Pixar Fest had last year). We got lucky and happened to walk by at 7 pm. A Cast Member told us we needed a wristband to come back, so we got one with a return time at 8:45 pm, 15 minutes before the event started. Note that you need a second wristband for this in addition to the wristband given to you at check-in. Yesterday, they started passing out these wristbands around 5:45 pm before the mix-in even started, but we doubt they will do this again tomorrow.
We went and it was cute to see, but you still had to wait in lines, albeit shorter, to see the characters.
Friends of ours who got to the Fantasyland Theatre to get their wristband around 8:45 or 9 pm were given a return time of 12 AM, an hour before the party ended at 1 am. Most people, who didn't get to the Theatre till the event started, unfortunately did not get a wristband and couldn't meet the Ducks (Darkwing, Scrooge, Huey, Dewey, Louie & Launchpad).
Arrive early to buy at the Starcade or Emporium. The majority of the merchandise sold out by 10 pm.
Don't forget to scan your wristband into the app for complimentary unlimited PhotoPass downloads.
