The price of Mears Connect transport just increased. A message displayed on a banner at the top of the Mears Connect website reads, “Please Be Advised: A 3% Fuel Surcharge Will Be Added to All Reservations Until Further Notice – Thank You.”
With the price increase, a round-trip adult ticket for Mears Connect now costs $34.60, a $1 increase from its previous $33.60 price. A round-trip child ticket for Mears Connect now costs $28.12, an increase of $0.82 from its previous $27.30 price.

Since the notice on the Mears Connect website specifies the price increase is a fuel surcharge, we suspect Mears is simply feeling the effects of the recent increased gas prices, just like many Americans. This would mean the fuel surcharge may be removed if and when gas prices in the U.S. start to decrease.
Another hint of the surcharge being temporary is that the notice is a banner at the top of the website rather than listed as part of Mears Connect’s itemized pricing on its services page.
Longtime Disney World visitors may remember the days of Disney’s Magical Express, an official transportation service operated by Disney and free to Disney World hotel guests. Disney’s Magical Express was discontinued in 2021, and Mears Connect is the current option that most closely resembles that former service.
Also note, in 2023, Mears Connect merged with the Sunshine Flyer, a short-lived competing service.
