Disney World Has an Awesome Hidden Parade Next Month You Will Easily Miss

I love staying on-site at Walt Disney World, their resort hotels are known for their incredible themes and experiences. Some of these resorts even come with their own well kept secrets like the Christmas golf cart parade at Fort Wilderness Resort each season.

Well, that's not the only Walt Disney World resort with its own seasonal golf cart parade. Who knew that golf carts could make such good parade floats!

There is another resort golf cart parade which is a tradition ten years in the making that celebrates Mardi Gras each year and is worth taking the time to see.

French Quarter Celebrating Mardi Gras

Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter Resort hosts a Mardi Gras themed parade each year which features cast member designed floats! Previous years have included floats themed to Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise along with paying homage to past Walt Disney World parades.

Cast members hand out free beads to guests watching as everyone that works at French Quarter gets involved. The Mardi Gras golf cart parade has been a cast member tradition for over ten years.

Disneygaga on Instagram shared a look at last year's Mardi Gras parade which even featured Princess Tiana as part of the event along with tributes to Walt Disney World cavalcades like the Rainy Day Cavalcade Disney brings out during rainy days. Cast members put so much effort into this parade and you do not have to be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter to attend!

This family friendly, free event takes place on Fat Tuesday which is on March 4, 2025 this year. In the past the parade has typically taken place around 10AM over by the Acadian House at Disney's Port Orleans Resort- Riverside before making its way down to French Quarter.

You can use Walt Disney World free transportation to get to the resort from Disney Springs or any of the Walt Disney World thee parks. This is a great activity to include in your Walt Disney World trip if you happen to be at the parks during this week.

Port Orleans French Quarter is a great place to celebrate Mardi Gras even if you just stop in to grab the beignets at Scat Cat's Club. Mardi Gras events at Port Orleans Resort- French Quarter typically include appearances from Princess Tiana along with themed treats at the resort. Past years have even included a decorated Sassagoula River boat ride!

If you are staying at Walt Disney World during Mardi Gras season, I'd highly recommend considering a stay at Port Orleans Resort-Riverside or French Quarter to be close to the fun.
