Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom was repainted back in 2020, going from a grey and blue to a rose pink and royal blue color scheme (seen below). This was one of the most controversial changes Disney has made over the years, with many guests lamenting the change and wishing for the original color scheme to return.
Now, Disney has announced that they are repainting Cinderella Castle with a new color palette “inspired by the classic and original look of the castle.” This updated paint job will include grays, creams, blues, and touches of gold. Based on the description and the concept art (seen below), this change appears to be very much in line with the former appearance of the castle.
We do not yet have details on when this change will be implemented. Disney shared that they are “still putting the finishing touches on the paint design process.”
We also received some more big Disney World news at Destination D23 this weekend, including the announcement of a Walt Disney Audio-Animatronics figure coming to a classic ride, new changes coming to a top Disney World ride later this year, and new details and design inspiration revealed for the Villains Land coming.
