There is always a great deal of news and highlights that come from this biennial event, and many fans attend or eagerly watch for these from home.

This year, Disney has shared how fans can stream the highlights of the event from home, an option that has not been officially offered in recent years. Disney fans will definitely want to tune in to be the first to consume the big announcements and fun highlights from this major event. Keep reading for everything you need to know! D23 Expo Events Livestreaming Details

D23 Disney Expo

The D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event happens once every two years in Anaheim, and its panels often serve as the biggest source of news from across The Walt Disney Company. Along with daily programming at the Anaheim Convention Center, there are three major evening events hosted at the Honda Center.

The event that Disney fans will watch the most closely is the Disney Experiences Showcase, during which Disney reveals major updates and news about upcoming projects across its parks and experiences. This will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, featuring the artists, storytellers, and creative leaders that are shaping the future of Disney.

Here is the official description from Disney:

Fans can expect project updates, first looks, new artwork and renderings, behind-the-scenes stories, creative insights, and a closer look at how some of Disney Experiences’ most ambitious projects are progressing. We’re pulling back the curtain on the work, collaboration, and imagination of many of the experiences in development that Disney fans are eagerly following.

This year, Disney will be streaming this event on Disney+ so that fans can watch from home. Horizons: A Carousel of Progress will stream live at 7 p.m. PT on August 15.

They will also stream select other fun panels that fans will want to tune into, like a Percy Jackson and the Olympians panel, a Disney Princess concert, and the Disney Legends Award Ceremony, which honors this year’s class of Disney Legends including Dwayne Johnson, Anne Hathaway, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Susan Egan, and more.

  • Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase – Live at 7 pm PT on August 15

  • Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration – Recorded live from Disneyland Resort and begins streaming August 16

  • Disney Worldbuilders Panel with Jared Bush, Pete Docter, Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Kevin Feige, moderated by Leslie Iwerks – Live at 10:15 am PT on August 16

  • Disney Legends Awards Ceremony – Recorded live and begins streaming at 6 pm PT on August 16

The Disney+ Hulu Experience

The Disney+ Hulu Experience brings streaming to life like never before at the Anaheim Convention Center – Hall A. The space features a signature 4D theater, a collectible mystery pin quest, and personalized subscription support, alongside immersive photo opportunities inspired by Percy Jackson and the Olympians, FX’s American Horror Story, Camp Rock 3The SimpsonsOnly Murders in the Building, Marvel Television’s VisionQuest, and more.

Fans can also shop exclusive merchandise and collectibles, including Toynk officially licensed enamel trading pins themed to titles like The X-FilesKing of the Hill, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia; and Cardsmiths premium Refractor trading cards from series including Grey’s AnatomyThe Golden Girls, and Scrubs. Additional collectibles include themed mugs and coasters, as well as vinyl records featuring Disney Channel soundtracks from High School MusicalBest of Hannah Montana, and Camp Rock. 

Disney+ Perks Treat Truck

The Disney+ Perks Treat Truck will serve up themed donuts and collectible patches inspired by fan-favorite Disney+ and Hulu titles. The truck will be located at the Downtown Disney District near the Lululemon store and Disneyland security checkpoint, just past the Monorail station, from August 13 through 15, 10 am to 4 pm.

Disney+ Perks Patch Collection 

Guests can discover and collect six limited-edition Disney+ Perks patches throughout the weekend, featuring fan-favorite series like Abbott Elementary, Grey’s Anatomy, King of the Hill and Only Murders in the Building. Patches will be available at The Disney+ Hulu Experience Theater, the Disney+ Perks Treat Truck, select hotels, and more — creating a fun “collect them all” experience.

Disney+ Perks Member Mixer

The nostalgia kicks off early on Saturday, August 15, with the Disney+ Perks Member Mixer, a Throwbacks-themed breakfast at the Anaheim Convention Center. Featuring retro-inspired activities, photo-ops, and plenty of swag! This is an invite-only event for Disney+ Perks members. Members who redeemed a D23 complimentary gold membership through Disney+ Perks should check their email for more information.

Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks Dance Party 

Disney+ and Hulu are playing the hits with an epic Throwbacks dance party on Thursday, August 13 from 7:30 to 11:30pm at Tomorrowland Terrace in Disneyland. Inspired by the movies and series that defined a generation, like Hannah Montana, High School Musical, The Cheetah Girls and Camp Rock, this dance party will have guests reliving the memories and the songs they know by heart.

Animayhem Celebration at Downtown Disney District

Hulu Animayhem has taken over the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort with a celebration inspired by fan-favorite adult animated series. Limited-time menu creations themed to Futurama, King of the Hill, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers are available all month, and fans can collect exclusive commemorative buttons at participating locations. From August 13 to August 16, guests also can check out a custom chalk art installation.

Disney+ Perks At Home 

Starting August 14, eligible subscribers* can claim a commemorative digital pin from Disney Pinnacle by Dapper Labs, alongside new Perks dropping online from collaborators like ESPN College Football, Marvel Studios, and more. Visit disneyplus.com/perks for more details.
