People Walk Right By The Best Disney Springs Restaurant

One of my favorite restaurants in Disney Springs is often referred to as a place offering Southern home-cooked food in a premium dining setting. This is easily one of the most popular places to eat in Disney Springs for those who know where to look!

Let's get into one of the best Disney Springs restaurants at Walt Disney World that guests often walk right past without realizing what they’re missing. At Mickey Visit we are constantly eating at new Disney restaurants. You can see all of our top Mickey Visit best Disney Springs restaurants here.

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Will Hook You

Chef Art Smith Homecoming

Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' at Disney Springs is one of the toughest advanced dining reservations to get at Walt Disney World! Once you've discovered it, you'll be a repeat visitor on every trip moving forward. The indoor seating area holds fewer tables than you'd expect for a popular restaurant, which is why reservations can go fast. You can also eat at the bar if you want to skip the hassle of a reservation or a long wait!

Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' provides locally sourced food matched with a positive dining experience. According to the website, the restaurant is “paying homage to Florida’s rich agricultural heritage by highlighting local ingredients and farm-to-table cuisine. So come over, sip a handcrafted moonshine cocktail on our back porch and enjoy the bubbling springs backdrop.”

I recently experienced Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' for the first time despite my consistent trips to the area. I just never had taken it upon myself to try it, and always ended up just walking past it! And now that I have, I am a fan for life.

Want Some Moonshine? Chef Art Smith has You Covered

Moonshine chef art smith

One popular thing that Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' is known for is the amazing moonshine selection! You can also opt to purchase a flight to try all the flavors, which include:

  • Rumshine Punch- Strawberry RumShine, blackberry brandy, banana liqueur, pineapple juice, and house-made grenadine.
  • Blue Hooch- Blue Flame moonshine, lemon-infused moonshine, blue curacao, house-made simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and a splash of Sprite. Our strongest shine on tap.
  • Strawberry Lemonade- Strawberry moonshine, freshly muddled strawberries, lemonade, and strawberry puree.
  • Moonshine Margarita- Tequila, moonshine, with a splash of fresh-squeezed orange and lime.
  • Sweet Tea Shine- Sweet tea, fresh-squeezed lemon, and moonshine.

Our group loved this fligh,t and it was the perfect size to share with another person or two! The moonshine selection at Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' makes this one of my favorite spots to grab a drink in Disney Springs.

The Fried Chicken is Legendary

The most popular dish at Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' is Art's Famous Fried Chicken. This chicken is buttermilk-brined for 24 hours before it's fried up. It comes with creamy mashed potatoes and a cheddar drop biscuit.

Most loyal followers of this restaurant call this the best fried chicken at Walt Disney World! Those in our group who ordered the chicken agreed—there’s no better fried chicken at the resort.

Church Ladies Make Iconic Deviled Eggs

Deviled eggs

Another popular menu option is the Church Lady Deviled Eggs! I love the name here because it is true, church ladies make the best deviled eggs. Including this Southern comfort food staple is a smart choice.

These deviled eggs lived up to the hype, and everyone in our group enjoyed them, even my son, who normally isn't a big fan of eggs. These are your typical deviled eggs with a mixture on top that involves mustard and mayonnaise, but they taste like they came right out of someone's home kitchen.

The Best Comfort Food in Disney Springs

If you are an appetizer person, you will love this menu option! The Kitchen Plate allows you to pick three sides from their amazing list of Southern appetizer sides:

  • Cheddar Cheese Drop Biscuits
  • Creamy Mashed Potatoes
  • Momma's Mac and Cheese
  • Braised Kale and Collards
  • Southern Green Beans
  • Roasted Veggie & Potatoes
  • Broccoli & Bacon Salad
  • Southern Slaw
  • Bradley's Grits
  • French Fries

Two of our group ordered this, so altogether we tried the Cheddar Cheese Drop Biscuits, Creamy Mashed Potatoes, Momma's Mac and Cheese, and the Southern Green Beans. Everything was absolutely delicious, but the standout we all agreed on was the Momma's Mac and Cheese. This might just be the best mac and cheese in Walt Disney World.

Try the Bar Seating for Fast Service

Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' also offers bar seating! They offer their full menu at the bar so this is a perfect backup option if you weren't able to secure a reservation or want to enjoy this restaurant at the last-minute. This is a popular restaurant for those who know about it, even though it's tucked in the back of the Disney Springs complex.

My Favorite Restaurant in Disney Springs

Homecomin Disney Springs

For a vegetarian, there is an amazing number of menu options that I could enjoy here. For a place known for its fried chicken, this was a surprising discovery but a welcome one. Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' has easily made it to the top of my list of favorite restaurants in Walt Disney World. Between the amazing (and slightly dangerous!) moonshine options to iconic comfort food, you should not skip this dining experience.

And for those looking for fried chicken, it does live up to the hype as some of the best chicken in Walt Disney World!
