Viral Disney Snow White Popcorn Buckets Featuring Evil Queen & Wishing Well Are Likely Fake, Here Are the Real Ones

The popularity of theme park and movie theater popcorn buckets has skyrocketed. We frequently cover the latest Disney popcorn buckets you can get at the theme parks and the latest movie theater popcorn buckets from AMC, Regal, and Cinemark.

So, when new popcorn buckets from the new Disney Snow White live action remake started making the rounds we were closely watching to see what was going to be released. Something surprising popped up.

Over the past two days we've seen a couple of new Disney Snow White popcorn buckets go viral across Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms. Some of these buckets are real and are being released at the theaters. Four others including a Gal Gadot Evil Queen popcorn bucket appear to be generated by artificial intelligence.

New Disney Snow White Popcorn Buckets

Earlier today we already shared a look at a couple of new Snow White popcorn buckets that are actually coming to the movie theaters and are already available. There are also new buckets that are still being produced.

You can see the Cinemark popcorn buckets that have been released below. We already spotted them in the movie theater near us. You can see those photos in our overall movie theaters popcorn bucket article linked above. It appears that in addition to three Cinemark exclusive buckets there are also some other novelties including a reflective mirror bucket, apple tumbler, diamond sipper cup, and cape blanket for sale. We may also see these at other theaters.

AMC is also doing a popcorn bucket featuring one of the dwarf carts from the movie but no official announcement or artwork has been released yet. At this point the confirmation that this popcorn bucket is happening is coming from employees who have posted on TikTok about the new bucket. We don't yet have the information on if Regal will be creating a Snow White popcorn bucket for this movie release.

Fake Snow White Popcorn Buckets Making the Rounds

Now, that's what we know about the official buckets. Here's what we have seen going around on social media for other Snow White popcorn buckets that are NOT real. These images look so convincing that it's difficult to tell that they are AI / computer generated and not things coming out.

This has become a huge problem generally on Facebook with AI generated images spreading and causing misinformation. Sometimes things are harmless like a Stitch themed airplane, but other times these images cause mass confusion that really impact people. I'd say that these popcorn buckets are somewhere in the middle. I would imagine that everyone reading this will have a similar reaction to the one that I had when I saw these buckets on my feed and then went to research all the buckets coming out.

“Oh, darn these super cool looking buckets aren't actually real”. When I first saw the posts below I was so excited to share them with our audience. They are quite impressive which makes it more frustrating that they're fake.

Here are the two posts that we've seen so far. First up is the Gal Gadot-inspired Evil Queen popcorn bucket. It looks so lifelike this is one I had to do real research on to see if it was fake or not.

It's unclear if this image and the one below were actually generated and shared by these pages or if they were generated somewhere else and shared unwittingly by these pages that were excited about them. For that reason the photo credits for these posts are unclear.

Next, are these super cute wishing well popcorn bucket designs that are making the rounds. You can tell from the popcorn stacked on top of the well that this is not one that's real. You can also tell that it's not real based on the design of the popcorn bucket that features the classic Snow White animated design. We know that all promotion will feature images from this new movie.

Unfortunately this issue of AI generated images will only get worse and worse with Facebook removing their content moderation function. We see tons of posts of fake images meant to get traction. I don't anticipate this slowing down.

Do you like the popcorn buckets that were teased? The other note that I always make when discussing these AI generated buckets and other offerings is that if Facebook is going that crazy for them, then Disney should take notice and act on the popularity of the idea.
