On July 14, Disneyland Paris held a special nighttime spectacular as part of its celebrations for Bastille Day, a French national holiday. During this show, the park set a new Guinness World Records title for putting on “the Largest aerial display of a fictional character formed by multirotors/drones.” During the show, there were 1,571 drones that formed a massive tricolor Mickey Mouse head over the castle.
The special nighttime spectacular was a 12-minute show that highlighted iconic Disney stories inspired by France. It included symbols of French culture like the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral as well as scenes from Disney and Pixar films like “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “The Aristocats,” and “Ratatouille.”
Matthieu Robin, Entertainment Creative Lead at Disneyland Paris, spoke to this impressive achievement of setting a new Guinness World Record: “It’s a testament to the creativity, innovation, and hard work of our entire team. This achievement underscores our commitment to delivering unforgettable experiences to our guests.”
Even though the show for Bastille Day only took place on one night, Disneyland Paris is still showing the Disney Electrical Sky Parade, a nighttime spectacular inspired by the fan-favorite Main Street Electrical Parade, which has extended its run with a closing date next January.
