The apps for both Disneyland and Disney World released new updates today that added more options for payment methods, plus a new update to how plans are viewed at Disneyland. Disney is constantly evolving their guest experience to reduce complexity and make information easier to access.
This new update for payments is a helpful addition, but the new change for Disneyland might be a bit confusing for guests as they learn to navigate the new update. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including a big rope change at Disneyland and a major reopening rollercoaster date revealed.

Disneyland App Starts Using “My Plans”

The Disneyland app is now using the “My Plans” page in the app, which launched at Disney World last year. Before this change, this page was called “My Day.” Now users can view plans by selecting a specific date and see all the reservations for that day in one place, which includes resort stays, dining reservations, Lightning Lane selections, and park reservations.
While this update is likely designed to simplify how guests plan their Disneyland days, it might be confusing to see all your plans shift on the app.

There is also an “Add Plans” feature to book Lightning Lanes, make dining reservations, mobile order food, and check wait times. The “Tip Board” feature has been reworked, and now you can find most of that same information under “Wait Times.” Users have to update the app to see the new feature.
MyDisney Wallet Added to Both Apps
The MyDisney Wallet has been added to both the Disneyland and Disney World apps. This is Disney’s “wallet,” which is connected to your Disney account and stores your payment information across all the different websites, including Disney+ and the Disney Store. The MyDisney Wallet allows guests to store up to six payment cards.
Unfortunately, that’s not the update guests have been waiting for, as many have been hoping for a long time to see a way to store a Disney gift card as a payment method. Especially since there are so many great discounts available for Disney gift cards throughout the year, so many guests use them to purchase food and merchandise in the parks.

Disney gift cards can be used in so many different ways towards your Disney vacation. They are accepted as payment methods at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney, and Aulani: A Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii. But at Disneyland and Disney World, guests often use it to mobile order and to utilize mobile checkout.
Having a way to store those gift cards in the app would be a great benefit. Not being able to store them in the app means that you have to manually type them in each time. Let’s hope future app updates include a way to add Disney gift cards as a payment method!
