Disneyland & Disney World Experiencing Outage Due to Technical Issues

The Disneyland and Disney World apps are currently experiencing technical issues that they are working to address. There are also other outage impacts inside the theme parks. This is likely due to the global outage of Amazon Web Services (AWS) from early this morning that has affected several major online services.

Keep reading for everything we know so far about this technical issue and how it has affected Disney's services. At Mickey Visit, we keep you updated on the latest Disney theme park news.

Right now, on both the Disneyland and Disney World apps, you will see an error message popping up that reads, “We are currently experiencing intermittent technical issues that may affect some of our digital experiences. We're actively working to resolve this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience.” You can see the message displayed on the Disneyland app below.

In addition to the apps, we are getting reports that interactive rides are also having issues today. Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney California Adventure has been impacted according to reports on Reddit. One user there said that “Card readers are slow to process and I'm currently in the Midway Mania line. There's been two overhead announcements that SOUND like there's a delay “thank you for your understanding” is all I can make out.” They continued to say that the Toy Story Midway Mania “wait time jumped from 25 to 60 minutes, so yeah, interactive rides are likely affected”.

The wait time listings are also being impacted, as we discuss below. The Disneyland website also lists the error on the homepage. Here's the error message listed there – “We are currently experiencing intermittent technical issues that may affect some of our digital experiences. We’re actively working to resolve this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

These technical issues are likely connected to the major outage caused by an issue with Amazon Web Services (AWS) that has impacted several popular websites and apps. The Disneyland and Disney World apps use AWS for real-time features like live wait times and Lightning Lane Multi Pass. We are also seeing that wait time signs at the parks are experiencing the technical issue as well.

The outage also affected Disney streaming services, including Disney+ and Hulu, with users reporting login failures and crashes. According to CNN, several websites, apps, and games including Snapchat, Facebook and Fortnite were impacted, and Downdetector received 6.5 million reports from users worldwide.

Additionally, issues were reported from Banks and cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and AI firm Perplexity, as well as airlines Delta and United.
