D23 Expo 2024 Ticket Prices- Ticket Sale UPDATE Sold Out Tickets

D23 is the ultimate Disney fan convention that takes place every two years just minutes away from Disneyland resort. The 2024 D23: The Ultimate Fan Event takes place August 9, 10, and 11th at the Anaheim Convention Center with the bigger showcases taking place at the Honda Center. This is a big change from previous years and has also impacted ticket prices!

D23 is a great event to participate in as a Disney fan as you can be the first to hear the newest Disney news including changes to the Disney Parks and Disney Entertainment.

When Do 2024 D23 Tickets Go On Sale?

D23 tickets go on sale first for D23 Gold Members and Visa Cardholders.  A select amount of 2024 D23 tickets will be available for these presales:

• D23 Gold Members: March 26, 2024, at 12 p.m. PT.
• Visa Cardholders & D23 General & Gold Members: March 27, 2024, at 12 p.m. PT.

All Visa Cardholders have access to a pre-sale and they must purchase with a Visa card.

As for the general sale, tickets will be available for all members:

Tickets for all D23 General Members will go on sale March 28, 2024, at 12 p.m. PT.

You can purchase tickets on the D23 Official Website.

Tickets are available as long as supplies last! The ticket types that sold out first for the last D23 event were the 3-day tickets so keep that in mind. After that, the next popular ticket is Saturday, followed by Friday, and Sunday coming in last.

2024 D23 Ticket Sales Update

After a rocky start during the Gold Member presales on 3/26 with the queue being paused frequently to account for technical errors, presales resumed again on 3/27 for Visa card holders. Unfortunately, the queue was plagued again with technical issues.

I had the misfortune of being one of the chosen few to receive error message after error message when it came time to buy tickets. 

The first error message I received was when it finally came to be my turn to buy tickets (I started out around 8600 or so) and then when I tried to refresh, I was given the following message:

Then I was booted to the back of the line with a spot of about 56,000 in the queue. We saw this reported by several fans.

This is really frustrating for a lot of fans, myself included! Unfortunately, the demand just seems to exceed availability, as is the case with most Disney events.

The Visa card member sale is done for the day and the general sale will start 3/28 at 12PM. Unfortunately, many ticket types have sold out already.

Sold Out Tickets- Updated 3/27 5PM

As of now, these are the following ticket types that are SOLD OUT:

• D23 Ultimate Fan Pass 3-Day Ticket (Honda Center Access)

• D23 Ultimate Fan Pass 1-Day Ticket (Friday-Honda Center Access)

• D23 Ultimate Fan Pass 1-Day Ticket (Saturday-Honda Center Access)

• D23 Ultimate Fan Pass 1-Day Ticket (Sunday-Honda Center Access)

• D23 Fan Pass 3-Day Ticket (access to Anaheim Convention Center only)

• D23 Fan Pass 1-Day Ticket (Saturday- access to Anaheim Convention Center only)

For the general D23 sale on 3/28, here's what remains:

Available tickets include:

• D23 Preferred Ultimate Fan Pass 3-Day Ticket (exclusive to D23 Gold Members) includes a 3-day floor seat for evening shows at the Honda Center (same seat each night) and 3-day access to all experiences at the Anaheim Convention Center
• D23 Fan Pass Friday Or Sunday 1-Day Ticket (access to Anaheim Convention Center only)

I would not hesitate to hop in the queue to grab them as soon as sales open on 3/28 for what is remaining!

D23 Membership

You need to be a D23 General Member to get tickets!. This is also true for those that are also Disney Visa Cardmembers. It is FREE to sign up to be a D23 general member so make sure you do that prior to the sale date.

As for D23 Gold Members, this is a paid membership which comes with a discounted D23 ticket along with invitations to other events throughout the year, ability to purchase special merchandise plus a welcome gift. You might want to do the math to see if purchasing this membership with your tickets would be a good idea. D23 Gold Membership costs $99 per year for one person and $129 per year for a dual membership for two people.

D23 Gold Members this year will receive discounts from various groups across the show floor and in Downtown Disney. And for the first time, all D23 Gold Members attending the event will receive a commemorative and collectible pin.

D23 Charter Members who joined D23 in 2009 will have access to a private lounge off the show floor.

2024 D23 Ticket Prices

D23 2024 ticket prices have been announced and with this comes another big change to the 2024 D23 event. Access to the three panels at the Honda Center will come at an additional cost.

This has some pros and cons for fans. For those not interested in larger showcases and just want to explore the convention at the Anaheim Convention Center, this actually will lower your ticket price by $20/$10 based on the prices from the 2022 D23 event.

D23 Ultimate Fan Pass Tickets

The below tickets include access to D23 plus the evening shows at the Honda Center:

• D23 Ultimate Fan Pass 3-Day Ticket- includes a 3-day assigned seat for evening shows at the Honda Center and 3-day access to all experiences at the Anaheim Convention Center
  • $297/ticket, 400 Level Upper Rows
  • $447/ticket, 400 Level Lower Rows
  • $567/ticket, 200 Level Stage Adjacent
  • $747/ticket, 200 Level
• D23 Ultimate Fan Pass 1-Day Ticket includes a reserved seat for that date’s evening show at the Honda Center and same-day access to all experiences at the Anaheim Convention Center
  • $99/ticket, 400 Level Upper Rows
  • $149/ticket, 400 Level Lower Rows
  • $189/ticket, 200 Level Stage Adjacent 
  • $249/ticket, 200 Level
• D23 Preferred Ultimate Fan Pass 3-Day Ticket, exclusive to D23 Gold Members, includes a 3-day floor seat for evening shows at the Honda Center (same seat each night), and 3-day access to all experiences at the Anaheim Convention Center
  • $999/ticket, 100 Level Sections 110-112
  • $1,499/ticket, 100 Level Sections 107-109
  • $2,099/ticket, 100 Level Sections 104-106
  • $2,599/ticket, 100 Level Sections 101-103

Regardless of which ticket type you purchase, your seat is guaranteed for the evening shows but if you want a better view then the more exclusive (VIP style) option is the D23 Preferred Ultimate Fan Pass. Since the seats are assigned, this might also cut down on any necessity to line up early for the events which is exactly what Disney is trying to eliminate with this event change.

Honda Center D23 Seating

For guests interested in attending the evening shows at the Honda Center, you will need to either purchase the D23 Ultimate Fan Pass or D23 Ultimate Preferred Fan Pass.

The above chart gives us an idea of seating. Since the D23 Ultimate Preferred Fan Pass is basically the equivalent to a “VIP convention” ticket, they will have the best seating on the floor section. For all other passes, they will be seated in section 200 and section 400.

When you purchase a ticket that includes access to the Honda Center you will actually get to select your specific seat during the check out process. Pricing will vary based on the seat that you select.

2024 D23 Fan Pass Tickets

For guests only interested in events at the Anaheim Convention Center, the D23 Fan Pass provides access only to the events at this location.

D23 Fan Pass 1-Day

• Gold Members: $79/ticket 
• General Members: $89/ticket

D23 Fan Pass 3-Day

• Gold Members: $209/ticket
• General Members: $259/ticket

This is a change from past years but this might be a benefit for guests not interested in the larger showcases to enjoy the event at a lower cost. There will still be plenty of smaller panels to attend along with all the interactive experiences and shopping on the Show Floor.

The show floor will be bigger than ever and will be open at the Anaheim Convention Center from 9 am to 7 pm each day of D23. For those that don't want to attend the bigger performances there will be plenty to see in the convention center.

D23 2024 Honda Center Showcases

Only guests with a D23 Ultimate Fan Pass ticket will be able to access these evening showcase events which take place at the Honda Center. You can either pick from a 1-day ticket that coordinates with the evening showcase you want to see or get a 3-day ticket with access to all three.

Disney Entertainment Showcase: Friday, August 9th at 7PM

The first major event will kick off with the Disney Entertainment showcase featuring exclusive looks at the movies, series, and stage shows along with a glimpse of “what's next.”

Disney Experiences Showcase: Saturday, August 10 at 7PM

Disney Experiences will feature the latest news on highly anticipated projects in development around the world for Disney parks, experiences, and beyond. This is the showcase we are looking forward to the most especially as Disney as been teasing big changes coming to Animal Kingdom, the potential for a new land at Magic Kingdom, and the possibility for Avatar at Disneyland along with the DisneylandForward expansion.

Disney Legends Ceremony: Sunday, August 11 at 5PM

The last major showcase of the event will be the Disney Legends Ceremony hosted by Ryan Seacrest. Walt Disney Archives are honoring an exciting list of Disney icons this year including  Colleen Atwood, Angela Bassett, Martha Blanding, James L. Brooks, James Cameron, Jamie Lee Curtis, Miley Cyrus, Steve Ditko,
Harrison Ford, Mark Henn, Frank Oz, Kelly Ripa, Joe Rohde, and John Williams.

Since access to these showcases are limited by ticket type, this might mean easier access for these shows as compared to D23 events in the past. However, that also might indicate a select number of tickets in this category so if you are interested in tickets that include these shows, do not wait as they will likely sell out!

Is the D23 Ultimate Fan Pass Worth It?

The only guests that will be able to attend the evening shows (described above) are those that purchase the D23 Ultimate Fan Pass. 

For a 1-day ticket, that is an increase of $10 per ticket for general members. For a 3-day ticket, that is an increase of $38 per ticket for general members. The cost increase is really not that considerable that it seems like a no brainer to purchase the D23 Ultimate Fan Pass rather than the D23 Fan Pass which only includes events at the Anaheim Convention Center. 

Disney is likely using these two different ticket types as a way to more effectively control crowds for the shows at the Honda Center. Since the seating is reserved, they know exactly how many seats are available and this will likely equal the amount of Ultimate Fan Pass tickets will be available. If you are interested in an Ultimate Fan Pass, I would recommend being online right when tickets go on sale to grab your spot!

D23 Discount Tickets

For guests looking for discount D23 tickets, the only available option is for Gold D23 Members. For the 2024 D23, the discount options for Gold Members are only available for the D23 Fan Pass which only includes access to the Anaheim Convention Center events and not the nightly shows at the Honda Center.

Gold Members can save $10 per ticket for the D23 Fan 1-Day Pass and $40 per ticket for D23 3-Day Pass. It may be worth purchasing a Gold Membership for the 2024 D23 especially if you are interested in the D23 Preferred Ultimate Fan Pass 3-Day Ticket which is only available for Gold Members.

D23 is the Ultimate Disney Fan Event and is worth attending if you are a Disney fan! The event encompasses so much of the Disney fandom including the Disney Parks, Disney Entertainment plus the chance to interact with other Disney fans.
