We Just Tried Disney World’s Newly Expanded Resort Travel Perk

Walt Disney World recently introduced a new luggage transfer service that is similar to the conveniences we loved about Disney’s Magical Express, which was discontinued in 2020.

We just tried this new luggage transfer service during our recent flight into Orlando, and it was a huge perk. At Mickey Visit, we report on all the most recent Disney news, like the calendar of 2026 Disney World events and the newest resort hotel discounts.

Disney World Introduces Luggage Transfer Service

Southwest with Kids

We just tried the newest luggage transfer service, which began at Walt Disney World on November 18. Guests at select Disney World resort hotels flying on domestic Southwest Airlines flights arriving at Orlando International Airport (MCO) now have the option to skip baggage claim using Disney World Airport Luggage Transfer.

Disney World is using a third-party provider called Bag Check to deliver luggage directly to the resort for guests arriving at MCO. Bags with the specific tag are routed directly to your Disney resort.

This service is currently only available to guests flying Southwest Airlines and staying at the following resorts:

This builds off of the existing service currently offered at Disney World, which takes care of your luggage if you are staying at these resort hotels and flying Southwest, before your departure. You could use both of these services in order to take advantage of handing off your luggage for both arriving and departing travel.

These services echo one of the most beloved benefits of Disney’s former Magical Express and Remote Airline Check-In, discontinued in 2020 and still missed by many Disney adults. That complimentary service transported guests to and from their Disney resort hotel and handled their luggage, allowing travelers to bypass baggage claim entirely.

Our Experience Using Disney World Airport Luggage Transfer

Bag check tags

Our experience using Airport Luggage Transfer at Disney was extremely easy. Before our resort arrival, I received an email offering the service. I signed up via the form in the email, and the luggage tags were quickly sent to our address. I received them two days after filling out the form via FedEx. Disney is using expedited mail delivery to get these tags to guests quickly.

Bright yellow tags were included with instructions on how the process worked. These tags had our Disney Resort hotel on them, along with our identifying information. The instructions simply said to attach the tags to our checked luggage before we arrived at the airport, and Disney (via the third-party service Bag Check) would take care of the rest.

Our Luggage Arrived Quickly at Our Disney Resort

Disney luggage transfer

We always travel with AirTags in our checked luggage, so we were able to see exactly when they arrived at our Disney Resort hotel. They arrived at our hotel less than two hours after our flight landed. Perhaps even sooner, but we weren’t watching too closely to notice the exact time. The disclaimer Bag Check offers is that it can take up to four hours to receive your luggage, but the service was much quicker than that.

Disney Bell Services delivered our luggage directly to our resort hotel room, so our bags were inside the room when we arrived. This process was extremely convenient, especially since we had plans to go directly to Disney Springs after we arrived at the airport. This also saved us the cost of having to book an Uber XL to transport all our luggage to the resort. We could simply grab a regular-sized Uber and go directly to Disney Springs.

I hope eventually this service expands to include other Disney resorts, as this was a great convenience. I am sure guests staying at moderate and deluxe resort hotels would also appreciate this FREE perk!
