Walt Disney World has recently opened many new restaurants and lounges in its theme parks including the popular Pirates of the Caribbean-themed Magic Kingdom lounge and the adults-only Spaceship Earth-themed lounge at EPCOT.
Now one of their most iconic hotels has an official opening date for their upcoming restaurant. At Mickey Visit, we cover Disney Parks news, including the Disneyland Christmas popcorn buckets and the second Haunted Mansion bar coming soon.

Disney’s Grand Floridian New Bar Name Revealed

The name of the new lobby bar at Disney’s Grand Floridian Hotel & Spa has been revealed! The new lobby bar will be named “The Perch,” which is a great callout to the iconic birdcage it is based on. In the above picture, you can see the birdcage on the far left, which was the inspiration and now location for this new bar.

In the above photo, you can see where the construction is taking place for The Perch and its new location inside the Grand Floridian lobby. Due to this construction, the iconic Victorian-style gingerbread house will not return for the holiday season. Instead, the gingerbread offerings at other Disney Resort hotels will be expanded.
The Perch joins an already iconic lineup of Disney Resort hotel bars and lounges, including one of our favorites at the Grand Floridian, The Enchanted Rose. The Enchanted Rose Lounge is one of several themed Disney World lounges and is inspired by the live-action film adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.
A Closer Look at The Perch Design Details

The lobby bar celebrates the Victorian roots of the Grand Floridian resort with intricate woodwork, elegant herringbone tile, and custom stained glass.

In honor of the birdcage that inspired The Perch, there will be birds showcased throughout the atrium, adorning the stained glass, murals, and wallpaper.
Grand Floridian’s The Perch Menu

We also got a look at the menu for The Perch, which will feature champagne, wine, beer, and two signature cocktails.
The two signature cocktails are the Sunshine State Rum Sazerac and the Floridian 75. There will also be a non-alcoholic option, the Blueberry and Basil Iced Tea, which is a blend of lemon, blueberry, and basil tea. The menu is fairly limited, but this is a smaller bar, so this makes sense. If you want a more extensive lounge menu, going upstairs a floor to The Enchanted Rose is your best bet.
Here’s the complete The Perch menu, which was released after we initially shared this report and referred to this location as a “restaurant”. It’s really more bar and lounge, but it is an exciting addition.

Grand Floridian Lobby Bar Opening Date

The Perch will open on November 10 at Disney’s Grand Floridian Hotel & Spa. This lobby bar is a walk-up experience, so as of now, reservations are not available.
I will be curious to see how Disney handles the popularity of this new experience since it’s set up as a casual lobby bar with minimal seating, but it will likely be a big draw for guests in the opening months. This may become an additional stop on the monorail hotels bar crawl.
