New Magic Kingdom Attraction Closure Added to Refurbishment List

Walt Disney World often updates its refurbishment list with new closures for top rides and attractions. At Mickey Visit, we are constantly watching and reporting on ride closures like these at both Disney World and Disneyland.

Recently, we reported on permanent restaurant closures in Animal Kingdom and a transportation closure that will impact Disney World in 2026 and 2027. Keep reading to learn more about this newest upcoming closure at Magic Kingdom.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic will close for three weeks in November at Magic Kingdom. Guests can ride the attraction on its last day of operation on October 31, 2025. As part of the closure, the theater seats will be replaced. Currently, the Disney World calendar shows the attraction reopening on November 23, which is right before the busy Thanksgiving week. Attraction closures aren’t quite as common at Disney World as they are at Disneyland. Disney World strives to keep its attractions open, especially during peak travel times, since many guests visit this resort as a “one in a lifetime trip” as opposed to Disneyland, which draws in a lot more local and repeat visitors. So it is interesting to see a popular Magic Kingdom attraction close as the busy holiday season begins ramping up.

Best Magic Kingdom Rides - philharmagic

Mickey’s PhilharMagic is a 3D musical film featuring Donald Duck as he visits the worlds of different animated Disney classics. This attraction features some of the most iconic Disney songs including “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast, “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid, “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” from The Lion King, “Un Poco Loco” from Coco, “You Can Fly” from Peter Pan, and “A Whole New World” from Aladdin.

This attraction is also currently closed at Disney California Adventure, which has us wondering if there is some bigger addition to the attraction happening right now. Perhaps a new Zootopia 2-inspired scene? That version of the attraction is slated to reopen a day before this one closes.

This is a very popular attraction across all the Disney Parks. In fact, different versions of Mickey’s PhilharMagic play in every single Disney Park except Shanghai Disney. During our last visit to Hong Kong Disneyland, we witnessed massive lines for this attraction, which was so interesting to see. Check out our full look at 18 things from that park that we wish were in the US.
