This Hotel Near Disneyland Has a Water Park Pool, Free Breakfast, and Big Suites

Picking a hotel for your Disneyland trip can be a hard decision with all the different choices in the area. There are many Disneyland hotels to pick from, with a variety of amenities that differ in quality from each other. There are a variety of hotel options that range from family-owned hotels to larger new build hotels that are part of a chain.

On my most recent trip to the area, I stayed at a newer hotel with a large pool and recreation offerings, plus free breakfast. At Mickey Visit, we are constantly trying different hotel options around Disneyland. Here's what I think of this popular hotel.

Cambria Hotel & Suites Anaheim Hotel Overview

Cambri hotel

The Cambria Hotel & Suites Anaheim is one of the newer hotels in the Disneyland area, opening within the last five years. Since many of the hotels in the Disneyland area are older and thus are starting to show their age, this is already a perk working in their favor. The amenities and rooms still all feel like new and are not showing significant wear or tear.

Let's get into all the details of my stay and why I think this hotel is worth your consideration for your next Disneyland visit.

Spacious Suites Work Great for Families

Suites Cambri hotel

Our two-room suite offered plenty of room for our family. There was one room with a large king bed and bunk beds.

The beds were comfortable, and the bunk beds are a nice touch if you are traveling with kids.

The room also featured a double bathroom with a shower and bathtub. This was great if two people wanted to shower at the same time. I love it when hotels offer this option.

Suites cambri living room

The second room featured a kitchenette and a large living room space. This couch also pulls out to become a sofa bed. There is so much space in these suites that you could comfortably fit a large family.

The kitchenette featured a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and plenty of storage.

For families that like to utilize grocery delivery on their Disneyland vacations, this hotel would be a great choice.

Overall, our room was my favorite part of our stay. Everything was updated and clean with plenty of space for my entire group. We could see California Adventure from our room, too!

Don't Skip the Free Breakfast

Breakfast cambri

Cambria Hotel & Suites Anaheim offers a free breakfast for guests during their stay. The free breakfast is extremely popular and is often very crowded unless you go early!

The breakfast offered typical items like fruit, cereal, breakfast pastries, eggs, sausage and bacon, and more. The waffle maker was often the most popular and had the longest line each morning. We often would just run in to grab some fruit and coffee to enjoy on the way to Disneyland for rope drop.

Large Pool and Recreation Area for Families

Cambri Hotel and Pool

The Cambria Hotel & Suites Anaheim sets itself apart from the other hotels in the area with a large pool and recreation area that includes two large waterslides, a basketball court, ping pong tables, mini golf, and other yard games. There is so much for families to do in this outdoor area that this is often the biggest perk advertised for the hotel.

The pool area features two pools, two water slides, a splash pad, and a hot tub. Some guests may not count this as a full waterpark, especially if you try to compare it to a hotel like the Great Wolf Lodge, but for a neighborhood hotel near Disneyland, we were impressed by the pool area. There was enough space to find something to do, even if it was crowded. It was a great balance of water features for kids of all ages, between the splash pad for little ones and the water slides for older kids and teens.

Outdoor space

One rule with the outdoor activity space is that your teen needs to be 14 and older to be allowed outside without parental supervision. So just something to keep in mind if you have tweens/younger teens and they want to go play basketball by themselves while you're inside the hotel lobby. A parent needs to be outside with them if they're under the age of 14.

Outside bar

The bar opened to the outdoor area, which allowed for easy access for guests enjoying the amenities outside. This is definitely a nice perk, as not all hotels have options like this.

The recreation and pool area has a security guard checking bags before guests enter. Outside food is not allowed, and any food must be discarded or taken back to a guest’s room. They are a bit intense about this. We understand that the guard was added after disturbances in 2020, though no notable incidents have been reported in recent years which makes this feel unnecessary.

Nearby Restaurants Are Helpful

Cambri Hotel Suites

If you prefer eating outside the hotel, the Cambria Hotel & Suites is conveniently located near several restaurants, including Habit Burger Grill, Starbucks, Jersey Mike’s, Yogurtland, Ono Hawaiian BBQ, and Luna Grill.  I loved having a Starbucks nearby so I could grab my coffee there and avoid the longer lines inside the park. Our Mickey Visit founder, Gavin Doyle, loves the fish options from California Fish Grill located right here.

We saw many guests utilizing the nearby dining locations, and this is always a helpful option to have if you are trying to avoid higher prices in the theme park.

Distance to Disneyland From Cambria

Cambri hotel review

The biggest downside of this hotel is the distance from Disneyland. It's about a 30-minute walk to the front Disneyland gates, about a 20-minute walk to security, which is a far distance, especially after a long day in the parks or if you have small kids.

There is an ART bus stop right by the hotel, but I found it more convenient to take Uber/Lyft to/from the parks when we didn't feel like walking. If this is something you know you will use, I would factor that cost in. It was about a $7-10 cost each way, depending on the time of day we needed one. This ended up being cheaper for us than using the ART bus.

Cambria Hotel & Suites Good for Large Families

Cambri hotel suite

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Cambria Hotel & Suites Anaheim. This is a good option for large families to take advantage of, especially with their spacious suites and free breakfast.

The average price for this hotel is usually around $300 for a standard room and around $350 for a suite. The suites are extremely spacious, so combined with the great pool area and free breakfast, this makes it a great spot for families visiting Disneyland.

I was recently invited to stay at the Cambria Hotel & Suites Anaheim to give my honest opinion of this hotel. This was not my first time staying at the hotel. In the past, I have stayed as a paying guest, so I came to this hotel with prior context. You can read my review from a few years ago to see how things stack up now compared to when it first opened. While I was hosted for this stay, my opinions remain honest and entirely my own. If you book with our recommended travel partner, you can combine your stay with discount Disneyland tickets and have the opportunity to receive exclusive hotel perks.
