NEW Pre-Show Coming to WaterWorld at Universal Studios Hollywood

WaterWorld at Universal Studios Hollywood is one of the best theme park entertainment shows with stunts, explosions, and special effects. This is one of the shows I recommend all guests do not skip on their Universal Studios Hollywood trip.

For a limited time, there is a brand new pre-show that will run before the original WaterWorld show to celebrate one of Universal Picture’s newest films.

Let’s get into all the details of this brand new stunt show and when guests can see it at Universal Studios Hollywood!

What is the WaterWorld Show?

This stunt show takes place in a large arena surrounding a set inspired by the movie WaterWorld. The show includes wild stunts like jumping jet-skiers, firefights, massive explosions, and a huge plane crash onto the water.

You don’t need to know the film WaterWorld as the show itself does a nice job of giving enough context. This show is one of the most impressive theme park shows I have ever seen!

The Fall Guy Stuntacular Pre-Show

A brand new pre-show will take place before WaterWorld begins featuring an original storyline designed to entertain guests with behind the scenes details on how stunt performances are designed.

This new storyline celebrates the film industry’s “unsung” heroes, the stunt performers. The show is produced by 87North Productions which is a world-renowned production and action design company with connections to popular films like John Wick and Fast & Furious! This is a new partnership as 87North Productions expands into storytelling for live events and not just films.

The Fall Guy Stuntacular Pre-Show will make use of the existing WaterWorld set and feature brand new stunts and entertainment.

When Does the New WaterWorld Pre-Show Start?

The Fall Guy Stuntacular Pre-Show starts April 27 and runs through May 19 at Universal Studios Hollywood.

This is a limited time run so make sure you read all our tips on Universal Studios Hollywood to build this show into your park day.

If you are visiting Universal Studios Hollywood soon, don’t miss the anniversary celebration of the Studio Tour!

The Fall Guy Photo Op, Movie Release

Universal Citywalk

There will also be a special The Fall Guy photo op available in the theme park to celebrate the film’s release along with the new pre-show.

The Fall Guy film stars Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt and releases in theaters on Friday, May 3rd. Guests can enjoy the film in IMAX in Universal CityWalk and their local movie theaters. The story of the film focuses on a former stuntman (Gosling) who is “drafted back into service” when the star of a major studio movie goes missing.

Seems like the perfect fit for a WaterWorld stunt show!
