There are a variety of fun events to look forward to during the next year at Disneyland. While many will be looking to attend the popular Disneyland After Dark events and Oogie Boogie Bash parties during the Halloween season, these special after-hours events close down the park early for the rest of the guests at the park. Some other events are also returning that cause the park to open later.
Some are caught off guard by Disneyland’s early closures and late openings and end up having to unexpectedly cut their park plans short without a Park Hopper ticket or alternative plan for the evenings or to start later.

Disneyland 2026 Early Closures
On certain nights during the year, Disneyland closes early for Disneyland After Dark nights, Cast Member celebrations, Oogie Boogie Bash nights, or other special events. At certain times during the year, the parks also just close on the earlier side generally.

There will be five Disneyland After Dark themes in 2026, with parties taking place on select nights each month from January through mid-June, and the Oogie Boogie Bash parties occur in the fall months during the Halloween celebration at Disneyland. On event nights, guests without a special event ticket will not be able to continue enjoying the park after its early closing.
If you are at the park during an Oogie Boogie Bash party night, for example, you will see signs warning that the park will close at 6 pm when the event starts. Those who are attending the event are given special wristbands so that Cast Members can identify they have a ticket and they can remain in the park. When park closing time arrives, guests without wristbands are moved to the front of the park and not allowed to go deeper into the park or onto attractions.
Guests who have a Park Hopper ticket on event nights can simply go to the park that is not closing early, but those without a Park Hopper ticket may find their park day cut unexpectedly short.
There are also a few running and walking events throughout the year that can disrupt the park schedule and cause the parks to open late, like the runDisney Half Marathon Weekend and a charity walk called the Disneyland CHOC Walk.
Below, we will take you through the months when Disneyland will have early closures or late openings at both Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park.
January
The 2026 Sweethearts Nite parties take place on several nights in January and February at Disneyland Park. You can see everything you need to know about Sweethearts Nite in our guide to the event! Disneyland Park will be closing at 8pm on the following dates:
- January 22, 25, and 27
February
The 2026 Sweethearts Nite parties will also close Disneyland Park at 8pm on these dates in February:
- Feb 3, 5, 8, 10, 12 and 17
Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will also be opening an hour later than usual on the following date due to the Disneyland Half Marathon:
- February 1 at 9am
March
NOTE! For some dates in March and beyond, we don’t yet have the full daily hours released from Disney yet, so we have just noted the dates that will be impacted and when the parks will typically close for these events. We will update this article with more information on when the parks will be closed as we get closer to the dates. Star Wars Nites will be returning to Disneyland on select nights in April and May. On Star Wars Nite event nights, Disneyland Park will close early at 8 pm on the following days:
- April 28, 30

May
Star Wars Nites will close Disneyland Park early at 8 pm on the following dates:
- May 4, 6
Grad Nites will close Disney California Adventure Park early at 9 pm on the following dates:
- May 8, 12, 13, 15, 17, 20, 21, 28, 29 and 31
June
Pride Nite (see everything you need to know about the event in our 2026 Disneyland Pride Nite guide!) will be returning this June, with more early closures at Disneyland Park at 8 pm on the following dates:
- June 16 & 18
Grad Nites will close Disney California Adventure Park early at 9 pm on the following dates:
- June 3, 5, 7, 10 and 12, 2026
July
There are currently no early Disneyland closures that we are anticipating in July, but we will keep this section updated as the calendar becomes visible for this month.
August
We expect that sometime in early August, Disneyland will be opening late for the Disneyland CHOC Walk. This charity walk takes place at 6am before the parks open. Last year, California Adventure opened late at 8:30 am on August 3. We do not yet have the 2026 dates. We will update this guide once we know them.
Disneyland confirmed the return of the Oogie Boogie Bash parties in 2026. The park will close early on the dates the parties are offered in August, September, and October.
The Oogie Boogie Bash parties take place from 6pm-11pm, with Disney California Adventure closing early at 6pm. If you are planning a visit during this time period, we recommend either spending the day at Disneyland Park (see our 1-Day Disneyland Park Itinerary) or getting a Park Hopper ticket.

Disneyland does not currently have any holiday-themed special event in the style of Oogie Boogie Bash. A few years ago they offered the Disneyland Merriest Nites event which did not return after its one year run. We do not anticipate that the Merriest Nites event will return to Disneyland in 2026.
