Disney has set seven ride closures for October 2026 across Disneyland and Disney World. One of the most iconic rides at Disneyland is still closed with no reopening date set and at the Magic Kingdom, an opening day ride is closed for almost the entire month. There are also other closures. Disney closes rides for various reasons throughout the year. These closures listed here are a snapshot at this moment in time and are likely to change as additional dates are released. Disneyland Ride Closures for October 2026
Disneyland’s ride closures include some popular attractions closing in October. Many do not have confirmed reopening dates.

Indiana Jones Adventure closed for refurbishment starting on September 8. The popular attraction currently does not have a reopening date yet.
Mad Tea Party closed on September 14 and currently has no reopening date listed.
“it’s a small word” will close October 30 to transform into “it’s a small world” Holiday and will likely reopen on November 13 when the holiday season starts.
The past few months Disneyland has not been operating Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes and Sailing Ship Columbia on a daily basis. Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes will be closed on October 1, 4–8, and 12–15 and Sailing Ship Columbia will be closed October 1–2, 5–9, and 12–16.
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will close on November 1 to begin the work to remove the Villains Grove overlay from Oogie Boogie Bash. Read more about the transition between Halloween and the holidays here.
Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition closed on July 6, and no current reopening date has been announced.
Disney World Ride Closures for October 2026
The Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom will be closed for refurbishment starting September 28 through October 29, 2026.
Generally, the Walt Disney World Railroad has been operating under a modified route that excludes the Frontierland station, with the train operating in “shuttle mode” between Main Street station and Fantasyland station. The train will remain in this “shuttle mode” for the next few years while work continues on Piston Peak, the new Cars-inspired land, and Villains Land. That will continue when the railroad reopens at the end of the month.
As for closures happening past October, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom will be closed starting on November 2, 2026. Disney has not announced a reopening date. Along with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the nearby gift shops Critter Co-Op and Tiana’s Bayou General will also close on the same date.
Typhoon Lagoon has been closed for seasonal maintenance since September 9. Blizzard Beach will remain open.
Carousel of Progress in Magic Kingdom closed on July 6 for a major overhaul of the ride’s timeline, with the story of the ride shifting forward by 60 years. The new version of the attraction will reopen sometime in 2027.
