A subscription to Disney+ with ads cost $6.99 when the streaming service debuted in 2019. Had this price kept pace with the rate of inflation, it would be priced at $9.10 today, per the CPI Calculator. That hasn’t been the case though. Disney+ prices have steadily outpaced inflation over the years, and more price increases have just arrived. We also anticipate Disney theme park prices increasing soon.

Disney+ Subscription Prices Increase
Disney increased the monthly subscription prices for Disney+ and Hulu, typical of this time of year.

In addition to Disney+, Disney fully owns Hulu, generally promoted as a more adult-oriented platform, home to original programming and a rotating selection of non-Disney library films and television series. Subscribers of both platforms can watch Hulu titles directly within the Disney+ interface.
The price increases go into effect immediately for new subscribers and will be reflected on the next billing cycle for current subscribers.
Disney+ Premium, with no ads, increased from $18.99 per month to $21.49 per month.
Hulu Premium, with no ads, increased from $18.99 per month to $21.49 per month.
The Disney+/Hulu Premium Bundle, with no ads, increased from $19.99 per month to $21.99 per month.
Disney+ with ads increased from $11.99 per month to $12.49 per month.
Hulu with ads increased from $11.99 per month to $12.49 per month.
The price of the Disney+/Hulu Bundle, with ads, did not change. That subscription plan stays at $12.99 per month.
Disney also sells various bundles with its ESPN streaming service with varying content preferences. Those combo purchases also increased in price. Bloomberg was the first to report the price increases (paywalled link).

The price increase arrived on September 23, 2026, the same day that Toy Story 5 started streaming on Disney+. Later this week, Disney World will open a new version of a ride now featuring a Toy Story 5 character.
Disney+ subscribers can sign up for Disney+ Perks using their login info to receive discounts on Disney vacations and experiences. September’s perks include $10 off a ticket to see Avengers: Endgame – Encore in movie theaters.
New for this fall, Disney+ subscribers have access to two live ESPN/ABC college football games each week. Disney+ also just introduced Playlists, a feature grouping similar types of content together for viewers to watch continuously.
One of the most recent films to debut exclusively on Disney+ was Disney Worldbuilders, a documentary directed by Leslie Iwerks, who previously helmed The Imagineering Story.
We spoke with Iwerks about how Disney Worldbuilders captures the stories of creatives like Jennifer Lee and James Cameron and the theme park lands their stories have inspired, like World of Frozen and Pandora – The World of Avatar, respectively.
Looking ahead, Disney+ is in production on The Imagineering Story season 2, once again directed by Iwerks. In contrast to season 1, which traced the 70-year history of Imagineering, season 2 will focus on the present as Imagineers ideate and build new theme park attractions.
Disney+ also just announced a reboot of Darkwing Duck, the ’90s-era Disney Afternoon animated series. The new version will star Mark Hamill as the titular hero, along with Seth Rogen as Launchpad and Lizzy Caplan as Gosalyn.
Other Disney+ originals streaming in the months to come include VisionQuest, pitched as the finale of Marvel’s WandaVision trilogy that also includes Agatha All Along, and season 2 of Ahsoka, the live-action Star Wars series starring Rosario Dawson.
