According to these online posts, the attraction has been experiencing issues since August 21, when it alternated between open and closed throughout the day before becoming fully operational in the evening. Issues picked up again on August 23 when it was reportedly closed most of the day. Multiple guests shared that the attraction was down for most of the day starting on August 26 and continuing until August 29.

The issues persisted off and on until August 30, when multiple guests commented it had been shut down the entire day and was not fully operational.

Slinky Dog Dash Review

It’s important to keep in mind this is all from online reports and not officially shared from Disney. The Walt Disney World calendar does not show an official closure date for the popular attraction, nor does it report an upcoming refurbishment. Some of the downtime could have also been caused by weather, as afternoon storms are common in Orlando this time of year and Slinky Dog Dash closes for storms since it is an outdoor ride.

Slinky Dog Dash is one of the most popular attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with advance Lightning Lane reservations being gone within minutes when booking opens up. These unexpected closures are frustrating for guests, but Disney will automatically convert a Lightning Lane for the attraction into a Multiple Experience Pass, which can be used on Slinky Dog Dash when it reopens or other popular attractions.
