A Disneyland frequent theme park visitor and fan, known across the internet as “Peter Pan Girl,” has now responded to the viral memes surrounding her interactions with the Peter Pan character in the park. Her recent TikToks interacting with the character in the park went viral, resulting in memes and speculation about her relationship with the character performer.
The discussion spread so far online that it even resulted in one of the Peter Pan character performers addressing the controversy, and it’s called into question a debate about when character interactions might cross boundaries. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including a new menu at a sit-down restaurant for passholders and the expansion of an airport perk.

“Peter Pan Girl” Addresses Controversy
Christina Toni Kulusich, who has been meeting the Peter Pan character performers for over a decade at Disneyland, recently had a video go viral with more than 29 million views. This video, which you can watch at the end of the article, shows her gifting Peter Pan a handmade crochet keychain and sparked hundreds of comments questioning the ethics of her interactions with the character performers at Disneyland.

Kulusich spoke to USA TODAY about her thoughts on all the attention after this viral moment, sharing that “it’s been a little rough” and that she never thought these moments would “blow up this much – of like, the entire internet to know I exist.” Some commenters poked fun at the video, with one comment saying, “I know he went on a cigarette break after this,” receiving 1.5 million likes. Another comment read, “Forced to stay in character but you can tell he’s so uncomfortable.” The video resulted in many viral memes and satirical videos, with some editing the interaction in black and white and adding horror movie scores to the audio.
Rumors also swirled that Kulusich was banned from Disneyland for “stalking Peter Pan,” but in the interview, she disputed those rumors, saying, “I actually was there yesterday.”
Kulusich also spoke to WIRED and shared the toll this experience has had on her mental health, sharing that someone figured out the location of her work and posted the address online, and she had to change her work hours for security reasons. She told WIRED, “Imagine waking up to thousands of comments saying you’re a crazy stalker lady every single day.”
USA Today also spoke to former cast members, including Andrey Lull, an actor who portrayed Peter Pan along with other characters at Walt Disney World in 2015. He shared that Disney instructors warned him during training that some adult guests might “figure out his real name, address and social media accounts.” He shared that during his time as a cast member, adults would learn his schedule and would show up for every one of his shifts.
Another former cast member from 2006 to 2017, Sarah Daniels, previously shared her experience with USA TODAY that, “It wasn’t the kids that were weird. It was mostly the adults and the teenagers.” Another cast member claimed in 2021 that when she played Tinker Bell, she was harassed by several married men at Walt Disney World when she was just 16.
Another Cast Member who portrayed Peter at Disneyland from 2014 to 2021, Dylan Gadeke, spoke out on the controversy in a TikTok video. He started out the video by saying, “Yes, I had many interactions with Toni.” He said that while her behavior made him feel uncomfortable or awkward at times, it did not cross boundaries of what a character interaction should look like in the parks. He claimed “it never crossed the boundary of trying to get to know the performer,” and called for an end to the online harassment. He went on to share another story of a stalker he faced as a performer as a contrast.
Two years ago, Walt Disney World struggled with guests stalking the viral “Tally the Elf” online and during the Magic Kingdom holiday parties. The next holiday season, the character was swapped out with a different character performer.
Much of the discourse surrounding guest interactions with character performers centers on the boundaries of parasocial relationships, particularly when guests become so invested in these characters that they lose sight of the real people behind the costumes who are simply doing their jobs.
And, of course, this viral moment also sparked a debate over whether these character interactions are even meant for adults. One comment on the original video read, “Girl, this is an adult, let him work… with KIDS,” and received more than 910,000 likes.
Kulusich also told WIRED that when she first returned to the parks since the backlash, she tried to steer clear of Fantasyland to avoid “making everything worse.” However, she shared that she saw Peter Pan on the carousel who waved to her and asked her to ride next to him, “He told me never to stop visiting Neverland. Which is honestly exactly what I needed to hear that day.”
What do you think? Do you think repeat interactions with characters by adults are crossing boundaries? Should character interactions be reserved just for kids?
