Disneyland Announced 12 Special Offerings Coming One Day Next Month

Disneyland has a special event on the calendar next month that will feature exclusive entertainment, unique character interactions and experiences, free Mickey ear hats, limited-time merchandise releases, and a Disney Princess concert.

This special event is going to be one of the most popular days to visit Disneyland next month, and there is no additional cost beyond your theme park ticket to enjoy all the offerings. Here’s what to expect from this special event at Disneyland. 1. Complimentary Mickey Mouse Ear Hat

D23 Day takes place on August 13 as part of the countdown to D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim. This one-day event takes place the day before the fan event kicks off, which brings a fun assortment of Disney-focused presentations, including a special auction of rare Disney Park attraction items, plus expected major announcements for theme park fans.

Guests entering Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park on August 13 will receive a complimentary Mickey Mouse ear hat featuring the D23 Day at Disneyland Resort logo and commemorative guide.

2. Disney Legends Cavalcade

One of the highlights of the day will be the Disney Legends Cavalcade at 1:30 PM along the Disneyland parade route. The cavalcade will feature 23 characters with the Disneyland Band, along with select Disney Legends, who have been recognized for the unique and impactful legacies they have created at Disney.

3. Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration

There will also be the opportunity to attend the live performance of “Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration” in Disney California Adventure. This performance brings together the largest gathering of Disney Princess talent ever assembled, celebrating the iconic stories across animation, live-action, stage, and music. 4. Rare Character Interactions

Guests can also find rare characters like Merlin from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ The Sword and the Stone and Blue Fairy from Disney Animation’s Pinocchio, wandering through Fantasyland in Disneyland.

5. Multiple Character Dance Parties

Tomorrowland Terrace in Disneyland will offer dance parties throughout the day and evening. “Stitch’s Interplanetary Beach Party Bash” will take place from 2 PM to 6 PM. In the evening, the dance party will switch to “Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks Dance Party” from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM.

6. “Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party” Returns

“Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party” will return to Disneyland with family-friendly entertainment and activities inspired by Disney Jr. favorites. The celebration will take place at Disney California Adventure on D23 Day before continuing at Downtown Disney District from Aug. 14-16.

Guests can enjoy offerings featuring characters and stories from Sofia the First: Royal Magic, SuperKitties, and Spidey and his Amazing Friends, along with the “Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Block Party,” live entertainment, character appearances, crafts, dance parties, and themed photo opportunities.

7. Free PhotoPass Downloads and Photo Ops

There will be multiple D23 Day icon photo locations in Town Square at Disneyland, Pixar Pier in California Adventure, and in Downtown Disney. As part of the celebration, all park guests will receive complimentary unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos taken that day. Plus, Disney PhotoPass services will offer fun Magic Shots throughout the day. 

There will also be special photo booths in the Hollywood Backlot in California Adventure and the Fantasyland Theater in Disneyland, which will both offer D23 Day-themed photo strips for an additional fee.

8. Special Limited-Time Cake Pop

Guests can enjoy a limited-time Sorcerer Apprentice Mickey Cake Pop, available at Candy Palace in Disneyland, Trolley Treats in California Adventure, and Disney Wonderful World of Sweets in Downtown Disney.

9. Haunted Mansion Hatbox Ghost Popcorn Bucket Debut

The new Haunted Mansion Hatbox Ghost Popcorn Bucket will be available for purchase for a limited time at Harbour Galley, Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, Popcorn at Frontierland and Popcorn at New Orleans in Disneyland, and at Popcorn at Grizzly Peak Airfield and Popcorn Near Carthay Circle Restaurant in California Adventure. Available while supplies last; limit two (2) per person, per transaction. No discounts apply.

10. D23 Day Medallions Return

The popular D23 Day Medallions will return with locations at Candy Palace at Disneyland, Kingswell Shop at California Adventure, and near Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney. The D23 commemorative medallions feature four distinct designs with the D23 Day at Disneyland Resort logo on the back. They will be available for the first time in capsules and as a complete four-medallion set.

11. Major Disney Merchandise Releases

Guests can also shop limited-time merchandise collections starting on D23 Day. The D23 Day Logo Collection will feature a T-shirt, trading pin, and magnet, while the “Donde Empiezan Los Sueños” Disneylandia Collection from Viva La Bonita celebrates the dreams inspired by Disneyland. Additional collections will include merchandise celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and the 75th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland with themed apparel and accessories.

12. Disney Resort Hotel Activities

Disney Fairy Tale Weddings will offer special immersive entertainment, unique photo opportunities, and more information on their weddings at the Rose Court Garden at Disneyland Hotel.

Throughout the month of August, Disneyland Hotel will feature a photo opportunity inspired by the upcoming film, Camp Rock 3.
