- replacing cabinets and related panels adjacent to scene #17
- installing a raised grated platform and steps over the conduit
- electrical and mechanical upgrades

These changes will only enhance the experience of the ride, and they will not make any major changes to the show scenes themselves.
This refurbishment is expected to last about a month, but no official reopening date has been announced yet. Disney recently shared with us a little more clarity on the expected closure timeline.
Blue Bayou Restaurant Also Undergoing Refurbishment
Blue Bayou Restaurant will also close on May 4 for general maintenance. These two closures are linked because both experiences are housed within the same building, and they have a significant amount of physical overlap. Blue Bayou Restaurant overlooks certain parts of Pirates of the Caribbean, so closing the two at the same time makes sense for the guest experience, whether you’re on Pirates of the Caribbean or eating at Blue Bayou Restaurant.
Unlike its counterpart, Blue Bayou Restaurant does have a reopening date. You can dine at this location again starting on May 21. Blue Bayou Restaurant is a fan favorite and one of our top choices at Mickey Visit, due to its immersive atmosphere and great Cajun-Creole dishes.
However, since Blue Bayou Restaurant will open before Pirates of the Caribbean, some of that atmosphere will be slightly interrupted by the construction on the ride. Disney has said that “views will be obstructed and guests may hear some refurbishment noise.” Again, since Pirates of the Caribbean does not have a reopening date, we don’t know how long those obstructions will last, but it is something to keep in mind.

The last day to experience these two before their conjoined closures will be May 3, so make sure to fit them into your park itinerary while you still have the chance to.
