A new construction zone has sprung up at Hollywood Studios after the closure of a popular ride. Some changes for Lightning Lane offerings in the park have begun as a result.
But this closure will not last forever! After this renovation is completed, the ride will be added to several perks offered for Walt Disney World guests and those staying at the resort hotels on the property. Disney Ride Rejoining Lightning Lane Multi Pass
As of right now, Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets does not have an official opening date. But it is expected to be open again in summer 2026. Once that ride opens, it will once be included in Lightning Lane Multi Pass and other resort perks as shared below.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass is an add-on perk available to all Disney World guests, where you can purchase a pass and select up to three attractions to join a faster-moving line. Hollywood Studios has two tiers of possible Lightning Lane selections, broken down below:

Besides Multi Pass, Lightning Lane also has a Single Pass option, which allows guests to purchase a pass for one single ride in the park. Currently, Rise of the Resistance is the only ride in Hollywood Studios exclusively available through Lightning Lane Single Pass.
Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets rejoining the Multi Pass list means that the ride won't be a separate cost under the Lightning Lane Single Pass option. It will be included with the general purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass, which will be a relief to some guests who may have been worried about an additional cost. The ride will likely be a popular option for the Tier 1 group when it reopens, which means Slinky Dog Dash fans may have more of a chance of securing that hard-to-get Lightning Lane.
Disney Hotel Guest Perks for Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster
Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets will also once again be included in both Early Entry and Extended Evening Hours for hotel guests. Both of these perks are available only for guests who stay at the resort hotels on the property, but Extended Evening Hours has an extra caveat, which will be explained below. We were unsure if this would be the case due to the nature of the new ride and the reality that often Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster could have delayed openings due to maintenance.
Early Entry is available to all guests staying at a Disney World hotel. It allows guests to enter any of the four parks 30 minutes before opening. This is a great way to get a head start on your day in the park and take advantage of smaller crowds and shorter wait times. There is a limited number of attractions available during Early Entry, and Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets will be one of those attractions once it opens in the summer.

Extended Evening Hours are a perk available to guests staying at Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villa Resorts, and other select hotels, not all guests at all resort hotels. Extended Evening Hours are only available at one park on certain nights, so be sure to check the official schedule to see which park is available on which night. We have already covered the schedule until May 18, and you can find that schedule, as well as a list of participating hotels, here. This perk gives guests an extra two hours in that select park, once again giving you access to smaller crowds and shorter wait times.
There is also a limited number of attractions available for Extended Evening Hours. The list for Hollywood Studios is the same as for Early Entry, including Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets. However, Rise of the Resistance is not available for Extended Evening Hours.

It is good to know that the renovation of Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster will not come with large overhauls to these guest perks! Keeping them in place will ensure fair access to the new version of the ride, whether you are a hotel guest or purchasing Lightning Lane for Hollywood Studios.
