Disneyland has added the reopening date for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance to the Disneyland ride refurbishment calendar. This comes after the ride closed last month. The Disneyland ride closure had been listed as lasting longer, but we shared the update that it was actually likely to only last a couple of weeks. This is one of the several Disneyland ride closures happening in February.
Now, we have the reopening date that was added to the Disneyland refurbishment calendar. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including a look at the newest Disney restaurants and secret pathways at Disney World.

We know that Disneyland wanted to be as certain as possible when listing the reopening date of the attraction to prevent disappointment from guests if they had to extend the closure, which is why we’re getting the reopening announcement closer to reopening than usual.
Disneyland uses this quieter period of the year at the parks to complete necessary refurbishment and upkeep work. We list this as one of the less busy times on our Mickey Visit Disneyland Crowd Calendar. That said, with the Disneyland California resident discount ticket offer available this year, the crowds in the spring are expected to be higher than normal.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is the most complex ride at the Disneyland Resort and is available on the extra-charge Lightning Lane Single Pass service for guests to skip the line. This is one of two rides in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland. The ride follows the storyline of the Resistance escaping from a First Order ship and combines multiple ride systems to tell an immersive, huge Star Wars story.
No changes are expected to have been made to this flagship attraction, though other changes are coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland.
The ride is reopening ahead of major changes coming to Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that will bring part of the land into the timeline of the original film trilogy, introducing beloved characters including Han Solo and Leia to the land.
There are other big changes coming to the land as part of this change, including the introduction of John Williams Star Wars score through the land and changes to the stores and cantina. See all of the major changes coming to the land here.

When announcing these changes, Disney Imagineering and Lucasfilm creative executives confirmed that the Rise of the Resistance refurbishment is routine and not related to these changes.
This is also coming as part of a relaunch of the other ride in the land, the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run which will soon feature characters from The Mandalorian and Grogu.
Oga’s Cantina is also currently closed for refurbishment, and a reopening date was just announced. Though we know that the timeline shift will affect the storyline of the bar, Disney has not clarified whether any changes will be implemented during the closure.
There are also other closures happening currently at Disneyland. Jungle Cruise and Space Mountain are both slated for upcoming ride closures. We just got the reopening date for the Grizzly River Run ride. You can see all the latest Disneyland ride closures here.
