Is Disney’s newest show “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After,” a worthy replacement for Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy? Our answer might surprise you.
“Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” is Hollywood Studios’ newest show which opens on May 27th along with the updated The Little Mermaid Musical Adventure. In the show are some of our favorite villains who want to know the answer to one simple question: “Which villain has been treated the most unfairly of them all?”

New Disney Villains Show Perfect Replacement for Lightning McQueen
“Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” is a great replacement for Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. I don’t think many guests are going to miss Lightning McQueen’s show after seeing this!
The Disney Villains show caters to a larger audience but is especially great for adults as the villains shown are from classic Disney movies. It may have some scary elements to it for younger kids but it’s not really scary. We would describe it as exciting with pockets of silliness and some flashing lights!
Here’s What the Theater Looks Like
The theater is now very different from Lightning McQueen. The seating has been replaced with individual cushioned seats rather than the bench-style seating that was there before which makes it a more comfortable theater experience.
The show includes fog effects and eerie music, and the stage looks identical to the concept art. The broken mirrors hung around the theater at different angles all remind me of the eeriness that the Tower of Terror also embodies.
Disney villains are all designed into the curtains.
The theater looks amazing.
Disney Villains Storyline Delivers for Fans
In the show, the Disney Villains are given the chance to tell their side of the story with the Magic Mirror summoning each one for the audience to hear them out.
The Villains “break through the glass” and take the stage to convince the audience why they are the most misunderstood.
Disney Villains Revealed in New Show
We already knew that we were going to see Maleficient, Cruella, and Captain Hook but we’ve been wondering what other villains were incorporated!
These are the only three live-stage villains, the rest included are featured on screens and are prerecorded.
I was excited to see that other highlighted villains included Hades, Jafar, and the Evil Queen.
This is a great assortment of villains to feature.
Villain Show is Interactive with Guests
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After is just under 15 minutes and is a fast-paced, multimedia presentation that blends live acting with digital storytelling.
In the end, guests have the chance to collectively have the opportunity to vote for which Disney Villain was most unfairly treated which is a really fun element to add.
