Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit Closing at Universal Studios Florida

Universal Rip Ride Rockit

The Universal Orlando official website for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit shares that the coaster will permanently close on August 18, 2025. Previously, Universal Orlando had estimated that the attraction would close in September 2025 so this is a bit earlier than previously stated.

The website also shares that the closure is “to make way for a new experience” and that “more details will be available at a later date.” It is unknown currently what attraction is planned to replace Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit but rumors have spread for years that this attraction’s future was limited.

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit opened in 2009 and allows guests to pick a song that they want to hear as they experience a climb toward the sky at a 90-degree angle with speeds topping out at 65 mph. The coaster is known for its extended downtime and it’s been clear for awhile that it’s time for an update. Many fans will be sad to see this coaster go though as it’s a nostalgic part of Universal Studios Florida!
