Throughout the year, Disneyland will routinely close rides for refurbishment to do any necessary maintenance and implement improvements. There are several ride closures happening soon during the slower season at the parks following the holiday celebration. Now, we have news of two more refurbishments coming up.
These closures were not revealed in the normal fashion that they usually are on the refurbishment calendar, but we know they are planned to happen at some point soon. Keep reading for everything we know so far! At Mickey Visit, we report on the latest Disney news, like Disneyland’s $68 Per Day California resident ticket price going away soon, and sold-out Disneyland Sweethearts’ Nite 2026 dates!

Closures Announced For Two Iconic Disneyland Rides

On the event page for the new “70 Years of Favorites” Disneyland After Dark event, they shared that the Disneyland Monorail and Jungle Cruise will be closed for refurbishment during the parties. The page says, “Be sure to check attraction availability closer to the event date, as schedules may change.”
We know that these two parties take place on March 3 and March 5, 2026. The refurbishment calendar currently goes as far out as January 29 at the time of writing, and these two attractions are not yet listed. So, this places the closure start timelines anywhere between January 29 and March 3 at the latest.
Usually, when the Monorail is closed, it’s a multi-week refurbishment, so we expect that this will be the case this time around. In 2024, Jungle Cruise closed for refurbishment in the fall and reopened with construction still taking place on the tiger ruins scene in the ride. They worked on rebuilding and making improvements to that structure and reportedly spent close to $600,000 on the improvements.
When we reached out to Disneyland for commentary on these closures, they confirmed they are standard refurbs, and we will hear more as we get closer to normal calendar timing.
In a permit Disneyland filed recently for work on the Jungle Cruise, they describe this as a tenant improvement to make structural repairs to rockwork, remove and reinstall posts with new footings, and add leak prevention to an existing hatch door, with plumbing.
