Top Ten LEGO Sets for Disney Fans

LEGO has a variety of wonderful sets that celebrate Disney and Pixar films along with the Disney Parks. Disney has been releasing more LEGO sets this year than ever before in celebration of the Walt Disney Company's 100th anniversary. It's a great time to be a LEGO and Disney fan! Here are the top ten LEGO sets for Disney fans!

LEGO Disney Celebration Train

This Disney LEGO set was released for Disney's 100th Celebration and brings an impressive set of miniatures with it. The minifgures in this set include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Moana, Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and Woody. Each part of the train celebrates a different Disney movie with Mickey and Minnie bringing up the front and rear.

At $39.99, this is a decent price considering the assortment of minifgures it comes with. Especially seeing Moana in a regular minifgure style and not the skinnier style we typically see for the Disney Princesses.

LEGO Disney and Pixar ‘Up’ House

This LEGO set released for Disney's 100th anniversary is one Disney fans have been wanting for a long time! This smaller-scale set features Carl's house from the Pixar movie Up! The list of minifigures includes Carl, Russel, Dug, and the squirrel Dug is often caught chasing in the Dug Days miniseries on Disney+. The opposite side of the house features details of Carl's home fans from the movie will recognize like the Paradise Falls painting.

This set retails for $59.99 and is a reasonable price for the amount of details included in this set.

LEGO The Haunted Mansion

Disney's Haunted Mansion LEGO set is a miniature version of the iconic Disney Parks attraction. This mini Haunted Mansion is styled after the one in Disneyland as you can see from the white columns featured in the front of the mansion. The back of the mansion includes scenes from the attraction like the well-known ballroom scene. Many fans were disappointed to not get a full-scale version but this miniature set nicely accompanies the Disney castle released in a similar time frame.

This LEGO set of this notorious Disneyland attraction costs $39.99.

LEGO Ideas Disney Winnie The Pooh

This Winnie the Pooh set was a result of the Disney Ideas campaign where LEGO fans can submit their own ideas for LEGO sets. If these sets get enough votes from other LEGO fans, then LEGO will consider making the set. This set includes all the iconic characters from Winnie the Pooh as minifigures set in this recreation of Pooh Bear's house.

This set retails for $99.99 and is also rumored to be retiring soon so grab it while you can.

LEGO Disney The Little Mermaid Royal Clamshell

This LEGO set was released for the new live-action Little Mermaid film. This set features the Little Mermaid characters with various scenes set in a clamshell. The pops of colors, plant life, and literal bubbles make this a contender for one of the best Disney sets released this year. If you look closely you will notice scenes like Triton's throne, Ursula's lair, and Ariel's secret cave of treasures.

This beautiful set retails for $159.99 and makes for an impressive display piece.

LEGO Disney Villain Icons

This Disney villain's LEGO set is rooted in Disney nostalgia. This set features villains from Disney's core animation history along with icons that match their history. My favorite touch is the LEGO Little Mermaid VHS tape with Ursula on the front. The set also comes with four Disney villain minifigures: the Evil Queen, Jafar, Maleficent, and Gaston.

This newly released set retails for $129.99 and would look great on a bookshelf next to your other Disney collectibles.

LEGO Disney 100th Minifigures

This LEGO minifigures collection features popular Disney characters including never before seen LEGO minifigures. This set includes Disney villains like King John and iconic characters like Stitch. These minifigures come in blind bags so you don't know what character you'll be getting.

Each bag is $4.99 or you have the option of buying six in a set for $29.99. Buying a set of six is a good option because the boxed set won't have repeat figures.

LEGO Disney Duos

This newly released LEGO set was created for Disney's 100th Anniversary. This set features popular character duos from the Disney films like Beauty & the Beast, Finding Nemo, Pocahontas, and Moana. While you may be tempted to just dismiss these as another version of Brickheadz, these figures come with their own specific base and Disney 100th plaque.

To add these fan-favorite Disney characters to your collection it will cost you $44.99.

LEGO Mini Disney Castle – Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary

This miniature version of Disney's Cinderella Castle was released in honor of Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary. This castle is a nice addition to Disney collectors especially since it's small enough to easily display. For a smaller set, the details on this are nicely done and highlight the colors on the Walt Disney World castle.

This miniature castle is much more affordable than its larger version at $39.99.

Hocus Pocus LEGO Set

This Hocus Pocus LEGO Set is based on the 1993 popular Hocus Pocus film and is based on the iconic cottage from the film. The set also includes minifigures of the three Sanderson Sisters, Max, Danni, Allison & Thackery Binx as the black cat. The cottage can be turned into the Sanderson Witch Museum by adding the information stand, museum sign, rope barriers, and cash register which can be hidden away in storage under the stairs when not in use.

This LEGO set was the result of a LEGO idea set that more than 10,000 fans voted on to help come to life. This new set releases on July 1st for LEGO VIP members and July 4th for all other shoppers. The Hocus Pocus LEGO set retails for $229.99.

LEGO Disney Castle

And the most famous Disney LEGO set of them all that deserves an honary mention… the Disney Castle! This impressive Disney Castle includes over 4000 pieces and is over two feet tall. The back of the castle features rooms dedicated to different Disney icons. This set is also the only place you can get the Tinkerbelle minifigure in this specific style. Unfortunately, this set was recently retired so the only place you can find it is on resale sites which will be charging double the price in many cases. The castle originally retailed for $349.99.

There have been many rumors from LEGO collectors, which are often very credible, that have revealed Disney is in the works to release a NEW castle for the Disney 100th Anniversary which will be on a similar scale as this one. Many speculate that it will be a remake of the Disney Castle but with an updated color scheme similar to what we saw on the LEGO Mini Disney Castle. Fingers crossed we get a reveal soon!
