New Disney World Nighttime Parade Will Include Popular Disney Pixar Character, Stunning Poster Revealed

We just got another look at the new Walt Disney World parade coming to Magic Kingdom. This will be the first time the theme park has had a nighttime parade in years and fans have long been wishing for one!

The new Magic Kingdom nighttime parade is drawing inspiration from early Magic Kingdom parades along with classic animation to new Disney Pixar favorites.

Let's get into the new poster revealed for “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” plus another character float announcement and an update on the timeline for the new parade to debut at Magic Kingdom.

Disney Starlight Parade Will Feature Coco Float

A Coco float will be joining the lineup of character floats announced for Disney Starlight which include Encanto, Peter Pan, Pinocchio, plus a lineup of classic Disney Princesses and Princes.

The Coco float will be a celebration of the film including Mariachi Music as it announces the arrival of the “larger-than-life” Pepita with wings that spread above the parade route. Miguel and Dante will be featured on the float at the foot of the marigold bridge to the Land of the Dead. Coco is such a popular Disney Pixar film so it's great to see him added to the parade.

Disney Debuts Parade Poster for Disney Starlight

Disney shared the poster for Disney Starlight and it captures the essence of “dreams” and “starlight” aesthetic which inspired the parade's design. The poster will be featured along with the other iconic artwork under the Main Street, U.S.A. train station.

The poster features the characters we can expect in the parade along with artwork of Cinderella Castle which has me hoping for a float the incorporates our beloved castle.

Disney also revealed that the princess segment of the parade will include royal court dancers which is “one of many references” to the classic “Main Street Electrical Parade.”

When Will Disney Starlight Come to Magic Kingdom?

No official date has been announced yet for the Disney Starlight parade coming to Magic Kingdom. So far official posts from Disney has continued to say “this summer” as the timeline.

I imagine we will get an official date soon. Summer as defined by Disney can mean anything from May to August but I am hopeful they are aiming for a debut date during May as this is commonly when we see new entertainment come to the parks.

We could see the parade debut sometime around the last two weeks of May or into the first week of June. This is the same period that Universal's new Epic Universe theme park is opening to the public.
