There is a new FREE activity at Magic Kingdom Park named “Smellephants on Parade,” a search-and-sniff adventure presented by Scentsy.
Smellephants on Parade invites guests to join Timothy. Q Mouse on an adventure around Storybook Circus to find 8 Smellephant statues, complete with a different fragrance for each Smellephant.
I recently went to Magic Kingdom Park to experience the new offering for the first time. Members of the Mickey Visit team are in the parks weekly making sure that we deliver the most up to date information and helpful tips. Here's our complete guide to Smellephants on Parade, including my thoughts and review at the end.

A Guide to Smellephants on Parade
The experience begins right inside Storybook Circus. There is a casting call posted by Timothy Q. Mouse, and he is seeking a “Whiff-sistant” to join Dumbo’s newest act. Here, guests can visit the ticket booth in front of Big Top Souvenirs to get an illustrated map of the land and a sticker sheet for the experience.
The hours for Smellephants on Parade are currently 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, so make sure to visit during those hours if you want the full experience. Even if you visit after 6:00 PM, the statues are illuminated at night, yet you won't be able to get a map from a Cast Member.
After you get the illustrated map of Storybook Circus from a Cast Member at the ticket booth, it's time to begin your new role as a Whiff-sistant.
The sticker sheet for each Smellephant is inside the map. I love the attention to detail on the sticker sheet because it looks like a ticket, which is our “admission” for the experience. The quality of the map is very good as well, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. Smellephants on Parade is sponsored by Scentsy.
Inside the map is a note from Timothy Q. Mouse, thanking us for taking the gig. The note highlights that there are 8 different Smellephant statues around Storybook Circus, and to use the stickers to mark where each one is.
The 8 Smellephant Statues
Our role in being a Whiff-sistant for Timothy Q. Mouse is to find all 8 Smellephant statues scattered around Storybook Circus. The fragrances include popcorn, caramel apple, snowcone, cotton candy, corn dog, churro, bubblegum, and pink lemonade. Each Smellephant statue sports a parade look, as well as a colorful design for each scent that they represent.
Popcorn Smellephant
The popcorn Smellephant is at the very front of Storybook Circus just outside the Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction.
Caramel Apple Smellephant
The caramel apple Smellephant is also at the front of Storybook Circus, just outside of Big Top Souvenirs and the ticket booth. This was the only Smellephant I smelled during my experience, and the smell was strong when it was active. More on that later in the article.
Snowcone Smellephant
The snowcone Smellephant is also outside of the Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction, across from the popcorn Smellephant.
Cotton Candy Smellephant
The cotton candy Smellephant is on the other side of Big Top Souvenirs. I love the pose for this one, and it's also at more eye-level than some of the others.
Corn Dog Smellephant
The corn dog Smellephant is located outside of Pete’s Silly Sideshow. This is my favorite design out of all the Smellephants, and feels the most “classic.”
Churro Smellephant
The churro Smellephant is closer to the Storybook Circus train station around the corner from the corn dog Smellephant.
Bubblegum Smellephant
The bubblegum Smellephant is in the center of Storybook Circus just outside of The Barnstormer. I love that the design resembles a gumball machine, and has a fantastic hand-painted vibe.
Pink Lemonade Smellephant
The pink lemonade Smellephant is right next to the bubblegum Smellephant in the center of Storybook Circus. This one is advertised as pink lemonade even though the colors resemble normal lemonade.
How to Become a Top-Nose Whiff-sistant
As you make your way around Storybook Circus, don't forget to match each sticker with each Smellephant statue. By the end of your aromatic adventure, you'll have a completed map with all 8 stickers and then can return to the Cast Member at the ticket booth to become an official top-nose Whiff-sistant.
The Cast Member will check your map at the ticket booth and then give you a sticker to congratulate you on completing the adventure. The sticker features Timothy Q. Mouse and is a fun reward you can wear for the rest of the day, especially being a free experience.
My Final Thoughts on Smellephants on Parade
Overall, I'd say that Smellephants on Parade exceeded my original expectations for the experience. This experience is a nice addition to the park and the fact that it's free, without any wait time, is a big plus.
The quality of the Smellephant statues is nice, and it's clear that they are high quality. I like that there are multiple different poses for the Smellephants, yet can't help to think how much better it would be if each one had a unique pose to sell the parade storyline.
The biggest surprise with this addition to me is the props and posters around Storybook Circus. There is a fun storyline for guests like myself who care about every detail in the Disney Parks, and the fact that the storyline was added is a great touch. If you walk over to the Storybook Circus train station, there are some beautifully themed cases for each scent, along with very detailed posters highlighting the Smellephants and their fragrances.
These props and posters are a great addition to Storybook Circus in addition to the Smellephant statues, and I love that the effort was put into adding them for Smellephants on Parade.
Now, unfortunately, there is one big negative to this entire experience, and that's that the Smellephant statues only create the scents every 5 minutes or so, which is very hit-or-miss. During the entire time I was walking around Storybook Circus, I was only able to smell one of the scents, which was the caramel apple Smellephant when I first got my map. I was in Storybook Circus for 20 minutes to complete the map, and the fact I only smelled one scent defeats the entire purpose, which is being advertised as an aromatic adventure. I hope to see the scent frequency increased drastically sooner rather than later to make this a much better experience for guests.
My Favorite Smellephants on Parade Detail
There is one final fantastic detail I love for Smellephants on Parade, and that is Timothy Q. Mouse's door on the bottom right side of the ticket booth. The attention to detail here is fantastic, and while most guests will never notice it, it lives up to the detail we've known to love from Walt Disney Imagineering for the last 70+ years. I smiled seeing this and loved that it was included so Timothy could access the ticket booth because, after all, he's the one recruiting us to find the 8 Smellephant statues.
Smellephants on Parade is a nice addition to Magic Kingdom Park, and while the fact that it's free is great, is overshadowed by the scents being so hit-or-miss. Make sure to stay tuned to MickeyVisit.com for more news and updates from Walt Disney World this summer!
