Disneyland Reopens Meet and Greet Area Featuring Favorite Character You Could Easily Walk Right By

After a multi-month closure, Disneyland has finally reopened the Pixie Hollow area off the main hub! This meet-and-greet area with Tinker Bell had been closed since last September and is now finally available again to guests, open five days a week during windows in the morning and early afternoon.

Keep reading for photos of the newly reopened Pixie Hollow, plus our thoughts on the reopening and what we would have liked to have seen.

Given that this is the only area where you can meet this character at Disneyland, the experience has been popular since its reopening! This meet and greet area is tucked right off the hub between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. You could easily walk right by it or only notice it once there is a big line and it's too late to line up.

So far throughout July, the meet-and-greet is available every day except Tuesday and Thursday from 8:15 AM to 10:30 AM and from 11:15 AM to 2:30 PM. We recommend being there 15 minutes before these greeting times.

When we went, it was still an hour-long wait, but the lines will get longer if you wait until further into the meeting window. Note that it's difficult to meet back up with groups for this line because the queue space is so narrow so it is best to keep your entire party together while waiting. That's a reason you should definitely get there right before the period starts if you are set on meeting Tinker Bell.

We didn't observe many really major changes to the area, despite its long closure. We were expecting to see something more dramatic and were surprised to see that things looked much the same.

We were hoping that there might be some other changes made to the area, like an added area for other characters to meet at the same time similar to the style of multiple rooms to meet the Frozen characters in the Animation Academy. The line can get quite long, and there is no shade, so the wait can get pretty tiresome in the heat with just one family meeting at a time.

Tinker Bell Pixie Hollow meet and greet
It's possible that there was maintenance being done that wasn't visible, and that the brightly colored elements of the meet-and-greet area are generally hard to upkeep. Or, the area may have just been unavailable for a while due to entertainment scheduling. In any case, we're pleased to have these characters back greeting guests at the park! Meeting Tinker Bell in this completely themed area is a very special offering at Disneyland.
