Guests looking to for off-site Walt Disney World hotels can find a variety of great accommodations which can allow for more travel points redemption options, closer locations to other tourist destinations in Orlando, and some even come with the Walt Disney World perks. Now don’t get me wrong, my family and I prefer Resort Hotels on-site because of the great perks but there are perks to staying off-site as well. My family and I have discovered some really great places around WDW that are off-site but not far from all the magic!

1. Waldorf Astoria Orlando (Bonnet Creek)
The Waldorf Astoria Orlando is luxury at its finest for guests looking for those deluxe options in off-site Walt Disney World hotels. Nestled on the outskirts of WDW, within a 482-acre nature preserve, the Waldorf Astoria Orlando is all about classy comfort and serenity but comes with a hefty price tag per night. Rooms are equivalent to Disney Deluxe Resorts and start at $500 per night (depending on the season and occupancy).
Resort fees per night are pretty high but include Wi-Fi, a spacious fitness center, access to their spa, golf club practice facilities, two pools, luxury motor coach to and from WDW, and 12 on-site restaurants and lounges. The Waldorf also offers guests special Disney perks, including Extra Magic Hours and FastPass+ with the option to reserve select attractions 60 days prior to arrival. Check their website for special offers, which sometimes include breakfast for two adults and housekeeping twice daily!
2. Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek
The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek made our top ten off-site Walt Disney World hotels list because of its newly renovated rooms with some offering fabulous views of Magic Kingdom, cost (slightly less expensive than its sister hotel – the Waldorf Astoria Orlando located right next door – with rooms starting as low as $150 a night (depending on season and occupancy), access to Extra Magic Hours and Disney 60-day FastPass+ benefits, 12 restaurants on-site, continuous shuttle to Disney Parks, and a 3-acre pool with a lazy river!
Yes, the resort fees are pretty high, however they are rightly justified with everything this hotel offers guests insuring that they tailor to your every need.
3. Wyndham Lake (Buena Vista)
What makes this hotel special is its proximity to the Disney Springs Area where guests have access to a world of Disney from restaurants and entertainment to access points to the Disney Parks. But really, the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort has it all. Going rate for rooms start at close to $300 a night (depending on season and occupancy), plus the resort fees include a fitness center, aquatic pool, shuttle to and from WDW. And the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista also offers guests Extra Magic Hours and advanced Fastpass+ options.
4. Best Western Lake Buena Vista (Disney Springs)
I have to admit, Best Western is my go-to hotel chain because of its trusted name. I’ve never stayed at a Best Western and had a terrible experience.
The Best Western Lake Buena Vista is conveniently located in the Disney Springs area where guests are minutes away from everything Disney. As if that isn’t enough to persuade you, the price starts at $130 a night (depending on season and occupancy). Resort fees and parking are reasonable per night. The amenities are good with an outdoor pool, fitness center, transportation to and from WDW, and the convenience of book-ahead Fastpass+ selection. Every room is equipped with refrigerators which make storing necessities convenient. Check their website for specials, such as kids 10 and under eat free breakfast with one paying adult.
5. Double Tree Suites by Hilton
What I absolutely love about this hotel is the fact that every room is spacious and that’s a plus when you’re traveling with kids! The Double Tree Suites by Hilton’s Disney Spring’s location, amenities, and access to Extra Magic Hours and advanced Fastpass+ booking make it one of my family’s top picks!
6. Four Seasons Resort Orlando
The Four Seasons Resort Orlando has it all – including stunning Magic Kingdom view rooms. That’s how close you are to the Magic at this AAA Diamond Resort. The amenities that come along with your stay justify the high resort fees. Extra Magic Mornings and advance Fastpass+ selection are offered here as well. An added bonus, aside from the 5-acre water park, 5-star dining, and complimentary kids’ camp, is the Disney character breakfast offered at Ravello restaurant (Thursday and Saturday only—charges apply).
7. Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress
This cozy hotel sits on its own 1,500 private acres and offers guests tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of WDW. If you plan on taking a day off from WDW, the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress offers fun activities like rock climbing, golfing, and swimming in their lagoon-like pool. Prices start at $170 a night (depending on season and occupancy), which is great, but resort fees are a bit steep at $42.75 per night.
8. Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites – Waterpark
The Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites Waterpark makes our top ten off-site Walt Disney World hotels list for numerous reasons! Not only is it an official Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotel, but it is located a mile from the entrance to WDW. And the pool is what persuaded my family and I to book here! Did I say pool? I meant waterpark with an Olympic-size pool, water slides, fun pool activities, and splash zone. As if that isn’t enough, onsite there is a 4-D Experience, Bank Heist Laser Challenge, miniature golf, and arcade.
There is no Disney perks offered here but there are a lot of great deals for families with kids 12 and under with perks of kids eating free at select on-site restaurants. Check the hotel’s website for more details.
Rooms start at $66.50 a night (depending on season and occupancy)! With so many awesome activities, this rate is a great deal! Resort fees are reasonable considering all the hotel offers, including the above and shuttle service to and from surrounding areas.
9. Embassy Suites Orlando I-Drive
What I absolutely love about all Embassy Suites Hotels are how accommodating they are. Yes, the Embassy Suites Orlando I-Drive is pricy, but the amenities make it worth it! Rooms have always been super clean and comfortable when my family have stayed here. And each room is spacious being two-room suites! What I also find helpful is the microwave and mini-fridge in each room. Guests get free continental breakfast and evening reception which includes free snacks, drinks, and cocktails. And the pools are amazing – one indoor one outdoor pool.
Yes, guests are a little further out from the hub of WDW, but the free shuttle to and from the Parks and being walking distance to fabulous restaurants and shopping makes it worth the stay.
10. Sonesta ES Suites Orlando
The Sonesta ES Suites Orlando – International Drive made our top ten off-site Walt Disney World hotels list because of the great deals you can get through our travel partner, Get Away Today! But that’s not the only reason why we like it here! Sonesta ES Suites Orlando – International Drive is conveniently located between WDW and Universal Studios and offers plenty of transportation options to travel to and from everything fun Orlando has to offer! All spacious rooms have either one- and two-bedrooms/two-bath and have fully equipped kitchens (which can save you lots of money by eating in), complimentary upgraded breakfast buffet, fitness center, Wi-Fi, and a heated pool/sundeck area.
