World of Color at Disney California Adventure has seen a few different variations of the year with ones that return seasonally like “Seasons of Light” to shows created for specific celebrations.
It’s also common for World of Color to feature short shows honoring new films like the most recent celebrating the release of Moana 2 in theaters.
World of Color is once again getting a new show to celebrate the 70th anniversary at Disneyland and it’s a mix of some of the most popular recent Disney films and nostalgic elements.

“World of Color Happiness!” draws inspiration from Walt Disney’s words from his opening day park dedication: “To all who come to this happy place… welcome!”

The show is hosted by Joy from “Inside Out” and features characters from both films as they explore the emotion of “happy” through a “kaleidoscope of emotions.” The new show features music and moments from favorite Walt Disney Animation and Pixar stories like “Turning Red,” “A Goofy Movie,” “Tangled,” “The Lion King,” and more.
“World of Color Happiness!” includes all the special effects that make World of Color such a fun show as it uses fountains, lighting, lasers, fog, and flame effects as part of its storytelling.

“World of Color Happiness!” is part of the Disneyland 70th anniversary celebration so it will run throughout the duration of that event. It’s unclear if this show will run through the holidays in 2025 or if it will take a hiatus for the “Season of Light” version of World of Color (the Christmas themed show) to run.
Disneyland Resort’s 70th Celebration takes place May 16, 2025, through summer 2026. The 2025 holiday season at Disneyland takes place from November 14, 2025 through January 7, 2025 so this is likely when the show will be replaced by the seasonal “Season of Light.”
