New Disneyland Attraction Will Utilize Virtual Queue During Opening

In honor of Disneyland's 70th anniversary celebration, Disneyland Park is getting ready to open a new attraction next week featuring the first-ever Walt Disney animatronic. We now have details on how visitors will be able to access this experience via virtual queue when it first opens!

New Walt Disney Attraction Virtual Queue

When the attraction opens on July 17, visitors will be able to join a virtual queue to experience it. During the time that a virtual queue is offered, a standby line will not be available.

Guests will be able to join the virtual queue via the Disneyland app no more than once per day, with two daily distribution times at 7 a.m. PT and 12 p.m. PT.

Before requesting to join the virtual queue, make sure that you are logged into the app and that your Disney account is linked to the park tickets of everyone else in your group so that you can enroll everyone at the same time.

You'll want to be ready on the app a few minutes before the distribution times. When the time comes to join the virtual queue, you'll go to “Virtual Queues” on the home screen of the app and then follow the steps from there to enroll your group. If you end up getting a spot in the virtual queue, you'll get a notification in the app and a designated return window when you can experience the attraction.

For the 7:00 AM distribution time, you can join if you have a park reservation for Disneyland Park with either a 1 Park Per Day ticket or a Disneyland Park with a park hopper ticket.

For the 12:00 PM (Noon) distribution time, you can join if you're in Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park with a park hopper ticket.

We do not anticipate that the virtual queue will last for very long here. The main reason for it is that there isn't a lot of queue space at the Main Street Opera House, and the high demand for the attraction in the initial days would cause some issues with a long standby line.

We expect that they will drop the virtual queue fairly quickly after the attraction's opening rush. This will especially be something crucial to manage on July 17 when it debuts, as it will be the primary goal of many visitors to experience the attraction on that day.
