People Walk Right By Great Downtown Disney Restaurant That Too Many Miss

With so many great dining locations at the Disneyland Resort, it can be easy to focus on the favorites and miss out on some hidden gems. This underrated restaurant in Downtown Disney in Disneyland is one that guests walk past all the time, even though it has big portions, live music on their patio, and no waits for seating.

We dine here frequently, especially when we want access to a table with no wait during busier times of the year at Disneyland. This is one of our favorite spots to enjoy spontaneously when we’re in Downtown Disney. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including a new major discount on Disney gift cards and the newest DVC member rules change.

Splitsville Isn’t Just for Bowling

Splitsville patio

While Splitsville Luxury Lanes in Downtown Disney is primarily known as a bowling spot, there’s actually a large indoor dining space and patio that features live music. The space for this restaurant is so large that it is quite easy to just drop in without a dining reservation, which is often how we find ourselves enjoying lunch on their patio. The ease of being able to walk up, without a dining reservation or waiting, is a welcome shift from some of the other more popular spots in Downtown Disney.

Splitsville likely goes overlooked because many guests think it’s only for bowling, but you do not need to bowl to eat here. Splitsville has two levels with 20 bowling lanes, with indoor and outdoor seating options. Depending on how busy it is when you visit, you may only be seated in a certain area, or you may have the choice of sitting downstairs or upstairs.

Live music splitsville

The lower level features an open bar that faces the indoor seating area and the outside patio. The atmosphere of Splitsville leans into a sports bar vibe with over 25 screens inside and outside playing various games. But the outdoor patio also features live music, most often on the weekends. This is a great last-minute dining spot at Downtown Disney if you want to enjoy a table service meal but did not make reservations far in advance.

Great Food Without a Long Wait

Splitsville nachos

The food at Splitsville is good quality, American-style food with large portions. The most popular dish here is the Macho Nachos. These can easily be customized, and I am always welcome to remove the beef to make them vegetarian-friendly. These nachos are definitely worth the hype!

The Macho Nachos come with seasoned ground beef, shredded cheddar jack cheese, queso, jalapeño, black bean corn salsa, and are drizzled with avocado ranch. I loved the avocado ranch, which gives the nachos a bit more of an edge than your standard nacho plate.

Splitsville burger and fries

You also have a solid selection of burgers and fries with the crinkle-cut fries, which fit the retro, American theme that Splitsville is trying to emulate. The variety on the menu at Splitsville really sets this Disneyland restaurant apart, especially since it’s usually easier to get a reservation here.

You’ll find everything from pizza and sushi rolls to classic American dishes, plus plenty of appetizers like nachos and loaded fries. It’s the kind of place where everyone can find something they like, making it a solid choice for a family meal.

Cocktails splitsville

There is also a great list of cocktails at Splitsville, including some fun novelty drinks. The bar menu includes a large range of mixed cocktails, novelty cocktails like the one I ordered, draft beers, wine, and canned/bottled beer. This is a pretty wide range of alcohol options, making this a great stop for adults at Disneyland. This is a great place to also just pop in for a drink at the bar, especially if you want to drop off any of your reluctant shoppers while you go on a Downtown Disney shopping trip.

Bowling at Splitsville in Downtown Disney

Splitsville Bowling Alley

Many guests visiting Downtown Disney might pick Splitsville Luxury Lane just for the bowling, although many, like us, mainly stop here for a place to eat. What makes this bowling spot unique is the retro, California-inspired bowling lanes and up-to-date technology. If you’re a frequent bowler and are used to going to nice bowling alleys, Splitsville might not be mind-blowing, but it still stands strong with the large lanes and quality food options.

The bowling prices for Splitsville at Downtown Disney change depending on the day and time of your visit, which is similar to most bowling alleys. Prices average around $35 per person when you book online, but if you book in person, it’s always $10 less. This pricing is a bit different from standard bowling alleys that may charge in ‘groupings’ of 1-2 people, 2-3 people, etc., rather than individually. You should expect to pay a higher rate at Splitsville Luxury Lanes for bowling when compared to your local bowling alley.

But there’s something about bowling in Disneyland that appeals to kids! My son has always loved the bowling at Splitsville Luxury Lanes. There’s just something extra alluring to kids about doing things Disney-style. Whether you’re there to bowl or not, Splitsville is worth stopping in for lunch or dinner. With its generous portions and minimal crowds, it’s a reliable and worthwhile place to eat without a long wait.
