Disneyland Stops Sales of New Ticket Type That Was Just Announced

Disneyland took many guests by surprise last week when it revealed a new partial-day ticket type discount. This is an uncommon ticket type, as Disney rarely sells partial-day tickets, so this offer generated plenty of buzz when it was announced.

Now, after less than one week, this ticket-type offer was abruptly made unavailable. Let's get into all the details of this ticket offer change and why it might have been discontinued. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including the new permanent closure of Downtown Disney restaurant and the progress on the new Avatar-themed land.

Disneyland Ends New Ticket Type Discount

Flo's V8 Cafe

Last week, Disney took many of us by surprise by announcing a limited-time Evening Ticket for a discounted price. Typically, the Disney theme parks only offer all-day admission, with pricing being consistent regardless of what time of the day you actually enter. This is why it was such a big deal for Disneyland to break tradition and begin offering a discounted ticket for half-day visits.

The new Evening Ticket was priced at only $59 and was valid on Sundays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays from July 12 through August 5. Guests could enter Disneyland at 7 PM or 5 PM at Disney California Adventure. The price of the ticket was the same for all guests aged 3 and up.

However, now the ticket is reading as “Currently Unavailable” on Disneyland's website. Within just one day of sales, dates were already starting to sell out, so it's safe to say this new ticket type was extremely popular. Disney typically controls the inventory of their targeted discounts, and it's likely the allocated numbers it set aside for this discount ran out. The fine print of this offer always stated that the availability was limited, so this is the likely reason why it's now showing as unavailable. Since the popularity of this discount was so great, it's a good sign we could see Disney consider offering a ticket type like this again in the future.
