Disneyland Will Welcome Savannah Bananas For Special Day of Celebration Ahead of Anaheim Games

Disneyland is welcoming the popular Savannah Bananas baseball team while they are in Anaheim playing a road game against the Firefighters at Angel Stadium.

The Savannah Banas are a popular exhibition baseball team that is often compared to the Harlem Globetrotters for baseball. They have successfully blended social media and their in-person games to build a huge fan base. They play a unique version of baseball called “Banana Ball” which features many wacky rules, dances, and a general party-like atmosphere. Disneyland has shared a roundup of some fun banana-flavored treats you can enjoy on this day!

Savannah Bananas Are Coming to Disneyland

During their home game last night, the team announced that they are coming to Disneyland for a one-day park visit with special activities. Mickey Mouse joined the team to make the announcement.

The founder of the Savannah Bananas, Jesse Cole, was on hand and shared his thoughts on the event.

“Walt Disney has inspired me from Day 1 with the Bananas to dream big and put the fans first. To be able to team up and create a magical experience together at Disneyland is a dream come true! To think that we will be center stage in front of the castle and on Main Street USA will be truly special. For the players, cast and our team, I know this is something we all could never have expected.”

The special offerings will take place during a regular day at Disneyland and no additional ticket will be required. The offerings will take place on May 28, 2025 ahead of two sold out games at Angel Stadium May 30-31.

Here's what is going to be coming to the event:

• A cavalcade along Main Street, U.S.A., featuring select Savannah Bananas players
• Special dance performance of “Hey Baby” at Sleeping Beauty Castle
• Banana-flavored treats that guests may find throughout the year across the resort

A member of our team described trying to get tickets for their Angel Stadium game as “more difficult than getting Taylor Swift tickets” so we are expecting big demand for this offering at Disneyland. I hope that the park is going to be ready for the excitement around the event. We will be there to bring you coverage of the event.

I know that there are some big Disney fans who are on the team and are working on this appearance. Funny enough, we've been connected with Jackson Olson, one of the popular players on the team, since we were both starting out making content on TikTok. He shared a quote about what it means to be bringing this day to Disneyland.

“This is the perfect collab for The Bananas. When you’re at Disney you can be whoever you want. It’s a place that (as corny as this sounds) can unlock the magic for you. And we’re so excited to help bring that magic to Anaheim!”

The company is also partnering with them to stream their games on on Disney+, ESPN+ and ESPN and ESPN 2.

Partnering with the Savannah Bananas is strategically the right move for Disney. I have been impressed to see the parks lean into working with new-age media brands like the Bananas and Dude Perfect (see their previous Disney appearance) that dominate on YouTube and social media. This is where so much young audience attention is today. It is imperative for Disney to keep this audience excited about Disney for the longterm success of the theme parks and company as a whole.
