The Golden Horseshoe is a quick-service restaurant in Frontierland known for its Western-themed interior and live entertainment performances throughout the day. The quick-service dining location previously allowed guests to place orders through the Disneyland app and pick up their food without waiting in the traditional queue.
At The Golden Horseshoe, guests could select their items, pay in the app, and receive a pickup window before collecting their order inside. With this update, guests will now need to order in person at the counter. Disneyland has not explained the change.
Disneyland Reduces Mobile Services Across Resort
The removal of mobile ordering at The Golden Horseshoe comes shortly after Disneyland reduced other app-based services across the resort. Earlier this month, mobile checkout for merchandise was eliminated at two of the most prominent retail locations, the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A., and Elias & Co. at Disney California Adventure. Those stores had previously allowed guests to scan items in the Disneyland app and complete their purchases directly from their phones. In addition, mobile ordering was recently removed from several candy shop locations throughout the resort. Guests previously had the option to order select confectionery items through the app and pick them up at a designated window, a feature that was especially convenient during seasonal rushes.
It’s unclear whether these changes are temporary adjustments or part of a broader shift in how Disneyland approaches app-based services. Over the past decade, Disney has steadily integrated mobile features into nearly every part of the theme park experience, from dining and merchandise to Lightning Lane selections and restaurant reservations. For guests planning their visit, this means mobile ordering is becoming less widely available than it was just months ago. Visitors who typically rely on the app may want to double-check which locations still offer mobile services before heading into the parks. We’ll continue monitoring for any additional updates to mobile ordering and checkout throughout the resort.
