Fantasmic! Rancho Del Zocalo Dining Package Food Review

Rancho Del Zocalo Fantasmic! dining package foods

Rancho Del Zocalo offers a relaxed outdoor shaded patio where you can enjoy your food. We were hosted by Disney for this event and got the opportunity to try all four of the entrees. We will share our thoughts on each of these below and what we would recommend! As always even though we are occasionally hosted for offerings we always share our complete honest opinion as you'll see below.

The Sweet and Savory Carne Asada was a standout dish as it was well seasoned and extremely flavorful. This is definitely our top recommended option if you are a meat eater as this entree was delicious and filling!

Another favorite option of ours was the plant-based Potato Tacos. We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed these! They come in a crispy shell so the tacos have a nice crunch and have a delicious, flavorful picante aïoli and guacatillo that really ties the dish together nicely. This is a great entree option that is also offered in a kids' version for the package.

Each plate comes with several sides, and as you can see in the photos, it is a huge quantity of food. None of the sides were a particular standout—the rice tasted a bit bland, the beans were on the saltier side, and the potato salad was also a bit underwhelming and had an interesting texture. However, looking at the amount of food you get alone, you’re getting a good value out of the meal and as with many of the dining packages, the experience is more about the perk of reserved viewing than the food.

The Chile Verde Riblet was very tender and fell right off the bone but lacked a bit of flavor compared with the Carne Asada. That being said, the Carne Asada was a little difficult to compete with in the first place because it was such a standout.

We thought the Sweet and Spicy Shrimp Taco was a little spicy as the name suggests but the shrimp itself was very well cooked and the cucumbers added a nice textural touch! We also got three tacos with this entree which is a really good amount of food as you can see below.

The Cortadillo that came with the package was a delicious dessert! It has a perfectly tart but sweet jam and mild vanilla frosting. The dessert is light but satisfying, making it the perfect choice after a filling meal.

Fantasmic! Rancho Del Zocalo Dining Package Viewing Area

Fantasmic! viewing area for Rancho Del Zocalo package

With your Rancho Del Zocalo Fantasmic! dining package, you’ll be given Fantasmic! vouchers that will grant you access to a reserved viewing area for the show. Hold onto these as they are how you will be admitted. Note that you will not watch the show from the restaurant—your meal area is separate from your viewing area.

It’s a bit of a walk to get to the viewing area as you’ll need to go all the way down to Harbour Galley to enter. Even though you have a reserved section with the dining package, you will still need to spend some time securing seating if you want the best spot. The return time on the voucher is between 8:00-8:45 pm for the first showing of Fantasmic!, but to have the most options for where you’ll sit, we recommend coming early and being one of the first people in the viewing area when it opens.

Fantasmic! finale scene

The Rancho Del Zocalo dining package viewing area for Fantasmic! is off to the left if you're facing the water. The viewing isn't as quite as good as what you'd get for the Blue Bayou dining package, which is front and dead center, but it still provides a decent view of the Rivers of America.

Fantasmic! Peter Pan scene

One downside is that if you are closest to the center in the reserved viewing area, your vision will be partially obstructed by a lampost and lighting pole, but if you are off further to the left, you won't have as centered a view. If you get there early enough to secure any seating you'd like, we recommend sitting just slightly back from the rail so that you still have a clear view and are close to the action but aren’t too close to the rail that it obstructs any photos that you want to take.
