Disneyland Matterhorn REOPENING DATE Revealed After Months-Long Closure

One of Disneyland's classic thrill rides closed for refurbishment a couple of weeks before the start of the Disneyland 70th anniversary celebration, and work has been taking place on the attraction since that time.

Matterhorn Bobsleds Reopening Date

This expected reopening is happening around the time of a few other Disneyland summer closures starting in July, including another big thrill ride, the Incredicoaster. Some of these closures have reopening dates listed, but others do not yet. We anticipate that they will be aiming to wrap up any potentially longer closures in time for the kickoff of the Halloween celebration at Disneyland.

Matterhorn Bobsleds closed for refurbishment on May 5, and the reopening date on the calendar is listed as July 24. As always, this is subject to change if they get closer to this date and need more time to work on the ride. That is especially the case for older attractions that may need more work than originally expected, like what we witnessed a few months ago when the “it's a small world” reopening date was pushed back during its multi-month closure.

While some are frustrated with the number of ride closures happening this summer, these are all routine refurbishments. For rides that are in higher demand, Disneyland will usually try to stagger closures the best they can so that there are not a ton of popular experiences down at once.
