Disneyland Drops Reservations For One of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Experiences

One of the best parts of Galaxy's Edge, especially for Star Wars fans or first-time visitors, is the interactive experiences that you can enjoy in the land, like building your own droid or assembling your own lightsaber. These experiences really add to the immersiveness of the area and make you feel like you have really stepped into the world of the iconic films.

You used to need a reservation to build a droid at Droid Depot, and these were offered the day of for a bit of time before the reservation requirement was lifted. Now, Disneyland has just revealed a change to how you will be able to access the droid-making experience Droid Depot at the park.

Starting March 17, 2025, Droid Depot will no longer offer reservations at Disneyland, but you can still access the experience via walk-ups. At the time, there are no changes for Droid Depot at Galaxy's Edge in Hollywood Studios.

This change is not very surprising to us, as the demand for this offering has definitely waned since the land first opened in 2019. Many will book these interactive Galaxy's Edge experiences once and not come back to do it again, as these are by no means cheap (droids currently cost $99.99 individually, plus tax). We're interested to see if the lightsaber-making experience at Savi's Workshop will start to adjust their reservation policy in the future, as demand for this experience is also not as high as it once was.
